The Bruins host the Maple Leafs at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts with the opening faceoff slated for 7:05 PM ET. Let's go over the odds for this match-up to find our value NHL pick.

Toronto Maple Leafs @ Boston Bruins

According to NHL betting odds Boston is a -215 money line home favorite and the posted total is 5.5. These two teams have seen just 6 of their last 22-games stay under the total. Boston is 8-2 in their last 10 at home versus Toronto.

Coming off a Huge Win

Boston comes off a huge 1-0 win at San Jose on Saturday. The victory was large in the sense, that it was the first loss sustained by the Sharks at home this season during regulation time, and it also snapped a temporary 2-game losing streak for the Bruins. Tuukka Rask stopped all 26 of the Sharks shots on goal to earn his 5th shutout of the season. Carl Soderberg’s goal with 7:35 to go in the 3rd period was the game winner for Boston. The low scoring affair versus the Sharks marked just the 3rd time in the last 17-games that the Bruins have stayed under the total set by online sportsbooks. After tonight the Bruins will be back on the road for games at Dallas and Chicago. They’re in the midst of a stretch which will see them play 7 of 9-games on the road. Boston is currently 1st in the Atlantic Division with a slim 2-point lead over the Tampa Bay Lightning, and 2nd overall in the Eastern Conference 8-points behind the Pittsburgh Penguins.

It’s Time to get Moving

After getting off to a very good start to the season the Leafs have been an extremely shaky team over the last month. Starting with a home loss to Columbus on November 25th they’ve gone 8-16 versus the money line. They do come off a 3-2 overtime shootout win at home versus New Jersey on Saturday that snapped a 4-game losing streak. The Leafs have gone under the total just once in their last 8-games. Entering today Toronto is 5th in the Atlantic Division, and is 9th overall in the Eastern Conference.

NHL Betting System

Any road team versus the money line coming off a home win their previous game, versus an opponent that saw 1-goal or less scored by both teams in their previous game, has gone 61-40 (60.6%) since the beginning of the 1996-1997 season. Considering those numbers, we'll add the Maple Leafs to our NHL picks for tonight.
