There’s a full slate of NHL action tonight. We’ve honed in on the handicapping edges in the game between Detroit and Toronto. Be sure to read our betting preview article on this contest, and it concludes with a 57-27 NHL money line betting system on this Atlantic Division tilt.

Hockey Night in Canada “Original Six” Clash
The Maple Leafs play host to the Red Wings on Saturday night at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto with the opening puck drop coming at 7:05 PM ET. According to SBR's live NHL odds, Detroit is a -110 money line favorite, and the posted total is 5.5. These two Atlantic Division rivals have met three times already this season, Toronto won 2 of the 3, and all 3-games went under the total. These clubs just met this past Wednesday in Detroit, and Toronto skated away with a 2-1 win.

Recent Road Run
The bad news for the Detroit Red Wings is that they’ve dropped each of their last 2-games, and both of those contests were decided in overtime. Detroit has gone 0-5 the past 2-seasons after losing each of their previous 2-games in overtime. The good news for the Red Wings, they’ve gone 4-1 in their last 5 on the road. After going on a torrid run of going over the total, the Red Wings have failed to do so in each of their last 4-games. As a matter of fact, Detroit has gone over the total in just 4 of their 14-games this season when facing an Atlantic Division opponent. Despite losing the last 2, the Red Wings have still won 9 of their previous 13-games, and enter tonight with a solid 17-13 money line record on the season. However, they’ve gone a dismal 4-10 versus opponents from within their own division. Backup goaltender Peter Mrazek is slated to be in goal tonight. Mrazek has gone a perfect 3-0 in his 3-starts this season, and compiled a very respectable .912 save percentage.

Go Leafs Go!
The Toronto Maple Leafs enters tonight’s game having won the last 3, and 7 of their previous 9-games. That successful run has improved their money line record to 16-12 on the season. Toronto has seen 16 of their 22-games go over the total during the past 2-seasons when facing an opponent from within their same division. They’re coming off a 2-1 road win over these same Detroit Red Wings in the previous game on Wednesday, and the Leafs have gone over the total in 11 of 14-games during the past 2-seasons following a 1-goal win. Toronto will be facing an opponent tonight that averages 3.0 goals per game. They’ve gone a stellar 8-2 against the money line this season, versus opponents that average 2.85 or more goals per game.

NHL Betting System
The Maple Leafs have a .571 winning percentage on the season, and the Red Wings are at .567. This will be the 8th game in the last 14-days for Detroit. These three factors make up a very profitable money line betting system, and I’ll take full advantage of just that when making my NHL picks for today.

Any team (Toronto) that’s facing an opponent (Detroit) who’s played 8-games or more over the past 14-days, and both teams have a winning percentage of .510 to .600, has seen that team go 57-27 (67.9%) against the money line since 1996.
