Nashville Holds a 3-1; looks dominant in the process but that isn’t stopping NHL analyst Dana Lane from backing St. Louis tonight.  It is make-or-break time for the Blues.

Not to use this term again but its ‘do or die’ for the St. Louis Blues as they trail their best of seven series 3-1, maybe we’ll change it to ‘do or get the Summer off’. History will tell you that the Blues have a 10.3 percent chance of winning this series but that doesn’t apply to our wager tonight.

When a team is in a 3-1 hole I like to listen to postgame comments from players and immediate press conference by head coaches so I can measure body language and confidence level. I have yet to hear any comments that would indicate that the Blues weren’t still a confident hockey club. Paul Stastny said he thinks the mood would be different if his team wasn’t in every game.  Stastny goes on to point out that in game one the Blues didn’t play well and were still in a position to win. I’ve listened enough to know that St. Louis isn’t already beaten mentally but there will be some changes.

According to Thursday line rushes Mike Yeo will have Vladimir Sobotka playing alongside Vladimir Tarasenko and Stastny on the top line.  That means that Jaden Schwartz will likely move down to the second line. It’s obvious that Yeo is trying to find a combination that will offer more offensively. Yeo mentioned that the insertion of Sobotka will raise the level of competitiveness. That’s a subtle way to send a message that he is not happy with his teams effort.

The home team is 8-2 in their last 10 meetings. This will be and has to be the Blues best effort as we back the desperate home team. The best available number can be found at where you can take advantage of their incredible cash back promotion on your first five weeks of play.
