The winner of this game has sole possession of first place in the Atlantic Division. The Boston Bruins trail the Tampa Bay Lightning by one point. Click here to view my NHL pick for tonight's game.

Boston Bruins vs. Tampa Bay Lightning
It's hard to shake the memory of the Lightning handling the Bruins quite easily last week. Of course, Boston wasn't the only team Tampa has had success against. The Lightning had won nine straight until dropping a game to San Jose on the 16th of February. They allowed two goals or fewer in six of those wins including the 4-1 beating of the Bruins.

Against Philadelphia last night the Flyers were clearly more focused on Boston. The Flyers outshot the Lightning 40-18 on their way to a 4-2 win. The Lightning had only three 1st period shots.

This type of result is good for Tampa Bettors who will be lined up to bet the Bruins in a revenge spot. Throw away what you just saw. Mark my words, taking the Flyers game and using it as a base for your opinion is throwing money away.

B's defensemen Zdeno Chara hasn't found the scoresheet in eight games and I worry about him against some of the quicker forwards in the league. He continues to struggle keeping pucks in the offensive zone. He was more valuable down low but they want his rocket from the point. He's paired with Torey Krug who tends to struggles with bigger forwards. He struggles too much defensively for my liking.

Defensemen, Kevan Miller, will not be playing after he was hit from behind from Alexander Ovechkin. He is listed as day to day.

I don't like the match-up against Steven Stamkos who is a good skater, Ondrej Palat is elusive, and Nikita Kucherov is an explosive and will win most one on one match-ups against the Bruins defensmen.

Tuukka Rask is still the listed goaltender for Boston but look for Jonas Gustavsson for get the start considering Rask played last night and he owns a 4.55 goals against average while dropping his last four starts against the Lightning. Boston is only 19th in goals allowed (2.7). Boston has always been a team that has prided themselves with solid depth but they can't claim that now.  The Bruins have only six players on the roster with positive possession numbers.

Ben Bishop will be back in goal for Tampa.  He has 1.48 GAA while winning his last six starts.

Betting Analysis
This has never been a good spot for the Bruins.  Against teams with a winning record the Bruins are just 3-7  in their last 10. Now they have to play in Amalie Arena where the Lightning are 57-26 in their last 83 hime games.

The home team in this series is 16-6 in their last 22 in this series.

If you're looking to bet the total on the NHL odds boards in this game keep in mind the the 'under' is 20-8-1 are the Lightning in a three games in four days situation. I've watched the Bruins struggle against good teams long enough to put them as my NHL pick. @DanaLaneSports
