The Pittsburgh Penguins are in a real dog fight in the Metropolitan Division as they're currently 2 points behind the Rangers and 3 points behind the Islanders for the division lead. That said, they get a very appealing matchup in San Jose against an inferior Sharks team which plays better on the road than on home ice.

Ice-time is scheduled for 10:00 p m ET tonight at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. This game can be seen on NBCSN. According to the NHL odds, the Penguins are a -115 betting road favorite and the total for the game is listed at 5.5 goals.

Starting Goalies
We take a look at the starting goalies and there's no confirmation as of yet as this is late game. For Pittsburgh, Marc- Andre Fleury is in net and he's one of the best goalies in the NHL. Fluery comes into this game on a high as he stopped all 31 shots on net in a 1-0 OT victory over the Los Angeles Kings. For the season, Fleury is 30-14-6 with a 2.16 GAA and has a .924 SV%. Fleury has won 4 ot of his last 5 games and plays well on the road. He's definitely in top form.

For the Sharks. Antti Niemi will be between the pipes. Niemi has had a very respectable year at 25-18-7 with a 2.62 GAA, but the advantage definitely goes to the Pens. Pittsburgh has the better offense and defense and the better overall hockey club. Home ice hasn't helped San Jose and they can be a in a tough spot tonight.

The Total Package
The Penguins rank in the top 10 in the NHL in goals scored, goals against, power play effectiveness, and power play killing. This team has it all and will be a tough team for any opponent to take down in the playoffs.

"The Big 3"
We haven't heard talks about the Big 3 since King James went back to Cleveland, but the Penguins have their own Big 3 as Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby run the offense and Kris Letang is one of the best defenseman in the league.

Malkin didn't score a  single point in the 1-0 overtime victory, but has been on fire as of late. In his last 5 games, he has 4 goals and 5 assists. Malking has also overtaken SIdney Crosby for the team lead with 67 points.Definitely

Epect Malkin to be a key player in this game. Letang is no slouch as he's on pace for a 52 assist season. He logs a ton of icetime; nearly 30 minutes per game. In his last 4 games he has 3 assists and look for him to be setting up his teammates on the offensive end while playing nearly flawless defense.

San Jose really has their work cut out for them as Marc-Andre Fleury is coming off of a 60 plus minute effort without allowing a single goal.

Here Are the Trade Deadline Winners & Losers

Shortage of "Sharks"
The Sharks have a ton of set up men with 30 assists or more , but aside from Joe Pavelski (32 goals, 29 assists, they really lack a big-time goal scorer.

Pavelski has scored a point in each of his last 5 games and is on pace for a 40 goal season. Players like veteran Joe Thornton will really need to facilitate the action .Thornton is an all-time great that his a very clutch player. He's coming off of a 1 goal, 1 assist performance in a 3-2 loss to Vancouver and in his last 3 games, has 1 goal and 4 assists. Thornton is a big-time player that has accrued 1251 points for his career and this could be the type of game in which he comes up big.

Outcome
Except for experience, Pittsburgh has the advantage in every facet of this game. They're also coming off a momentum builder in a 1-0 win in overtime over Los Angeles. The odds are also very appealing as the bettor can add to their NHL picks the far superior team at just -115; I'm sold.
