The Phoenix Coyotes Can Win Because…
They’re cooking right now. The Coyotes have won four of five as goaltender Mike Smith is again leading the way. He’s allowed just nine goals in his last five outings and by now, everyone understands that when Smith plays well, so do the Coyotes. Right now, he’s carrying the load and the team is feeding off of it.
Boston has had a crazy schedule and you may want to think twice about adding them to your sports picks. Not only do you have to lay nearly -200, but you’re doing so on a team that’s playing on back-to-back nights and playing their fourth game in six nights. The Bruins could be ripe for the picking.
The Boston Bruins Can Win Because…
They’re the hottest team in the East right now. The Bruins are gearing up for the playoffs in a big way as they’ve won six straight. They’re offense is on target as they’ve scored three or more in eight of their last nine games. They’re averaging 4.3 goals per game during their six-game winning streak.
Phoenix is just 4-12 after a win by two goals or more and are 10-18 when on the road with a total of 5.5. They’re simply not on the same level as Boston.

Outlook & Pick
This is a tough game to handicap. The Bruins will probably win it but the juice on the NHL odds is too high. The game could go under if Smith can cool off the Bruins offense but over is more likely given that the Bruins have home-ice advantage and can dictate the pace of play. That’s what I’ll go with here as the Bruins offense should do well while their fatigue – from the scheduling – should take a bite out of the quality of their defense.
