Winners of 2 straight, the Boston Bruins should feel secure for the moment with a 3 point lead on the Ottawa Senators, but the Bruins must get points tonight. In their way, stands a Florida Panthers team that is going nowhere, but are 6-3-2 in their last 10 games .This ought to be a highly contested battle as teams are scrambling, trying to grab a spot in the post-season.

Face-off is set for 7:00 p.m. ET at TD Garden in Boston Massachusetts. According to the NHL betting odds , the Bruins are a -161 betting favorite at 5Dimes, and the total for the game is 5 goals. Although the odds are a bit high, it's justifiable as Boston is the rightful favorite, going for the playoff spot, at home, and coming off a win.

Rask is Ready!
It's not confirmed if Roberto Luongo will be in net for the Panthers, but Tuukka Rask is confirmed as the starting goaltender tonight and will look to display some Boston Pride as a trip to the playoffs is in the balance.

After dealing with migraine issues and leaving early in Boston's win on Saturday over the Rangers, Rask came back with a 2-1 overtime win over Carolina. The Hurricanes are far from being world-beaters but Rask still had to deal with 31 shots and only one shot got behind him to light the lamp. I look for Rask to have a monster game tonight. With the situation that Boston is in, it feels like the perfect spot for a Boston win and the betting odds indicate this opinion.

Better Late Than Never
Boston is not known for their offense. They win games with their defense. That said, a team has to have some form of offense in order to be successful and Patrice Bergeron is the leader of this squad. Bergeron has been hot as of late.

In his last 14 games, he has 3 goals and 6 assists. Begeron has met Florida twice this season and has 2 goals against the Panthers, I expect this 21 goal 32 assist scorer to be be a nuisance to the Florida defense and Roberto Luongo. He has 217 shots on net this year and that leads Boston in that category.

Let's also look out for Brad Marchand in this game. Marchand has been relatively silent lately, but leads the Bruins with 22 goals and has faired well against Florida with 1 goal and 1 assist in 2 games.

Not enough? We still have more NHL picks for free here!

The Ageless One
Jaromir Jagr has found yet another team as he's 43 years young and this future hall of famer still has some gas left in the tank. He actually helped Boston's cause with 2 goals in a 4-2 win over the Ottawa Senators. This is a player that played with Mario Lemieux! Jagr is proving that he still has it with 4 goals and 8 assists in his last 13 games.

I've followed Jagr's career and conditioning is a huge part of his game. He's one of the best in the business. If you didn't know it, his 1796 points in 20 years and a future trip to the NHL Hall of Fame would tell you so.

Despite Jaromir Jagr's heroics, I'm going to side with the Bruins at home for my NHL picks. Rask is a good goalie when he's going good and Florida poses no major offensive threats and have no incentive other than the spoiler role.

NHL Pick: Boston -150 at 5Dimes
