There are 12 games on the ice this Saturday with all sorts of tantalizing NHL betting matchups. We’ve run through the card and circled our three favorite picks.

Montreal Canadiens vs. Dallas Stars

NHL Odds: Canadiens -120

The Dallas Stars continue to be a train wreck as they’ve now sunk to the bottom of the standings in the Central Division. They’ve lost four straight games and the biggest issue has been goaltending as they simply can’t keep pucks out of the net. The Stars have allowed five goals in each of their last four losses, which means they’ve given up 20 in their last four games. That’s about as bad as it gets. On the season, their 3.58 goals allowed per game is the worst mark in the NHL.

Dallas has had a really rough time of things playing on their home ice as they’ve registered just four home wins in 14 games. So why are they just a small dog on Saturday? Well, the Habs are playing a back-to-back on the road and they’ve been in a slump of their own. Entering Friday’s action, they had lost four of five. Even so, they’re worth a look in this spot as Dallas is significantly inferior. Take Montreal with your NHL picks.

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Nashville Predators

NHL Odds: Predators -115

The Blackhawks and Predators have squared off a couple of times already this season and both games have seen five goals or less. We’ll bank on that happening one more time on Saturday when the two sides collide in Nashville.

The Blackhawks are without lead goaltender Corey Crawford but their backups have been stellar this season. They’ve allowed one goal or less in each of the last three games that a backup has started and on the season, they’ve given up less than two goals per game in games where the backup has been in net.

When you combined that with the fact that Nashville gives up just 1.92 goals per game at home, which is the third-best mark in the NHL, and that goaltender Pekka Rinne has a 1.56 GAA and .943 save percentage this season when the Preds are at home, betting under the NHL odds total seems like the way to go.

San Jose Sharks vs. Calgary Flames

NHL Odds: Flames -112

The Flames are one of the hottest teams in the NHL right now and they’re not getting much respect in this spot. They have won four straight and few goaltenders are hotter than Karri Ramo right now. He’s won seven straight outings while allowing just 2.14 goals per game with a .922 save percentage in that span.

The Sharks have won three straight but now they’re on the road up north facing an underrated Flames squad. Take Calgary with your picks – especially since the price is so cheap.
