We’re going to be examining today’s NHL game between two bitter rivals when the Rangers & Islanders collide. Read our preview which includes a money line system which has won 75% of the time since 1996.

Metropolitan Division Heated Rivalry Renewed
A couple of old NHL rivals square off tonight when the New York Islanders host the New York Rangers at 7:05 PM ET. According to the NHL betting odds at 5Dimes, the Islanders are a -130 money line favorite, and the posted total is 5.5. This will be the fourth meeting of the season between these clubs, and the Islanders won each of the first three in fairly dominant fashion. They outscored the Rangers in those three games by a cumulative score of 13-4.

Rangers are on a Roll
The New York Rangers enter tonight’s game versus their fierce cross town rival having won the last three, and six of their previous eight games. Tonight will be the finale of a four game in seven day road trip for “The Blue Shirts.” The Rangers have been winners in each of their last four games on the road, and ironically enough, their last road loss came at the hands of the Islanders on January 27th. They’ve also gone a very profitable 16-10 against the money line on the road this season, and $100 NHL bettors have made $700 this season by wagering on the Rangers in all of their twenty-six away games.

Islanders dominating Division Opponents
The New York Islanders haven’t only dominated the Rangers this season. They’ve done so against all of their Metropolitan Division rivals by going an excellent 18-2 in those contests. The Islanders will enter tonight on a four game winning streak, and this will also be the finale of a four game in seven day home stand. The Isles have gone 20-6 against the money line on home ice this season, and $100 money line NHL bettors have made $1070 by wagering on the Islanders in all of their twenty-six game at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Jaroslav Halak will once again be in goal tonight for the Islanders, and he’s had a terrific season thus far. Halak has gone 31-11 in fourty two starts, and that includes an unheard of 15-1 with a stellar .932 save percentage when facing a Metropolitan Division opponent.

NHL Money Line Betting Angle
The Rangers have scored five goals or more in each of their previous three games. The Islanders are coming off a 6-3 home win over the Columbus Blue Jackets in their last game. The combination of these results sets up an extremely profitable money line betting system, and I certainly will factor that handicapping tool into the equation when making my NHL picks for Monday.

Any home team (Islanders) that scored six goals or more in their previous game, versus an opponent (Rangers) that scored four goals or more in each of their last three games, has seen the home team go 27-9 (75%) against the money line since 1996.

Free Pick: Play on the Islanders -130 over the Rangers on the money line at 5Dimes.
