Even when the New England Patriots win a Super Bowl, it seems that some sort of controversy surrounds them. The latest “gate” is Jerseygate as Tom Brady’s winning jersey is still missing. And you can bet on when it's found at BetOnline.

By now you probably have heard that Tom Brady’s jersey went missing from the Patriots’ locker room after their Super Bowl LI epic comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons at Houston’s NRG Stadium. That jersey has been valued to be worth perhaps $500,000 to a collector considering Brady’s performance and the fact he won a record fourth Super Bowl MVP Award and became the first quarterback with five Super Bowl rings. I’m sure Brady wasn’t going to go selling his jersey, but perhaps the Hall of Fame wanted it.

Some quickly blamed a member of the media for swiping the jersey. According to a Yahoo! Report, the theft was believed to have occurred between approximately 10:05 p.m. and 10:20 p.m. CT. That 15-minute time frame fell between Brady returning to the locker room from his MVP news conference and his eventual discovery that his No. 12 jersey was missing. Just before 10:17 p.m., the locker room was opened to the media, so that really wouldn’t be enough time to take the jersey and somehow smuggle it out of the locker room. Between 10:05-10:17, the only individuals inside the locker room were Patriots players, team officials and employees, family of New England executives, NFL employees and security.

This has become a big deal, relatively speaking, and the lieutenant governor of Texas enlisted the Texas Rangers – not the baseball team -- to search for the missing jersey in addition to the Houston Police Department.

Now there’s a potentially new twist. An unnamed law enforcement official told the gossip website TMZ, which tends to get things right more often than not, that the jersey may have been misplaced and not stolen: i.e. that someone in the locker room picked it up and threw in with the rest of the Patriots’ equipment. No one searched the 18-wheel truck before it left Houston. All that stuff was set to arrive at the Patriots’ Gillette Stadium on Thursday.

So you may want to go bet on the BetOnline NFL prop now. It asks when Brady’s jersey will be recovered: this month is -140 and sometime after February or never is +110.
