Evaluating NFL prop bets can be a daunting task given the sheer volume of available options. However, there are certainly a few that stick out for Week 1. Here are our best wide receiver prop bets for NFL Week 1.

There’s something special about the opening week of the football season, with most players champing at the bit to get rolling. Which wideouts will ball out and smash their game props right out of the gate?

Here are our top wide receiver prop bet picks for NFL Week 1 (odds via Caesars Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook).

NFL Week 1 Wide Receiver Prop Picks

W Rprops W1

Total Receptions Prop Pick

Kupp Under 7.5 receptions (-130)

Betting against reigning Offensive Player of the Year Cooper Kupp in any way seems like a terrible idea on the surface, but he will also have to endure the best passing defense in the NFL in Week 1. During the 2021 season, the Buffalo Bills were the only team to allow fewer than 2,000 receiving yards (1,925) and fewer than 10 touchdowns (six) to opposing wideouts.

Wagering on the Over is usually all but a sure thing when it comes to Kupp's prop bets, but this week is much riskier than many others. There’s a good chance he’ll face double coverage and although he will likely pick up a handful of receptions, eight seems too high given the matchup.

Receiving Yards Prop Pick

Kirk Over 55.5 receiving yards  (-119)

The Jacksonville Jaguars have a lot of confidence in Christian Kirk and his abilities, which is why they signed him to a four-year, $72-million contract in the offseason. Week 1 features an enticing matchup against the Washington Commanders, who surrendered 2,915 receiving yards to opposing wideouts last season (fifth worst in the league).

Kirk is coming off a strong 2021 campaign where he led the Arizona Cardinals in targets (103), receptions (77), and receiving yards (982). He will now have an even larger role with the Jags and should have no problem eclipsing 55.5 receiving yards in his debut.

Anytime Touchdown Scorer Prop Pick

Aiyuk (+210)

It was a tale of two seasons for San Francisco 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk last year. He started slowly in his second pro season but became a huge focal point in the offense from Week 8 on. The 2022 season figures to be different with Trey Lance starting the campaign under center, and the 49ers have the best possible Week 1 matchup a wideout could ask for.

In 2021, the Chicago Bears gave up a whopping 23 touchdowns to opposing receivers (second worst to only the Cardinals) despite allowing just 184 receptions to the position (second best in the league). This shows that a high volume of receptions isn’t necessary to score touchdowns against Chicago. Given how porous the Bears’ defense has been for years, Aiyuk has a great chance to score in Week 1.
