We have passed the midway part of the 2014-2015 NFL season and some substantial quarterbacks such as Tony Romo and Aaron Rodgers are dinged up. Luckily for them, they won't be playing today, but we will as we provide some big money betting selections as there are other great matchups to look at.

Matchup of the Day

Denver Broncos (6-1) at New England Patriots (6-2)
Peyton Manning has had two main nemesis in the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots. While Manning hasn't managed to beat the defending champion Seahawks, he's managed to be the Pats lately. That said, this game is in Gillette Stadium, a place where New England rarely ever loses. To top it off, New England has been red hot as of late, coming off of 4 straight wins and a 51-23 bashing of the Chicago Bears. The combination of Brady to Gronkowski is something to keep an eye on. Against Chicago, Gronk caught 9 passes for 149 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Where Denver is concerned, running back Ronnie Hillman has enabled Peyton Manning to incorporate the running game into the Denver offense and this has made it easier to deliver the football to his favorite receiver Demaryius Thomas. Hillman is coming off of his 2nd consecutive 100 yard running game and he could be the difference here, making a Broncos cover the easy choice for our NFL picks.

Pick- Denver -3

Baltimore Ravens (5-3) at Pittsburgh Steelers (5-3)
Ben Roethlisberger is coming off of the best game in his career in which he threw for over 500 yards and 6 touchdowns in a victory against an up and coming Indianapolis Colts team and his team is an home underdog at home. The odds makers missed the boat here as the Steelers possess the deadly combination of LeVeon Bell and Antonio Brown, which Baltimore won't be able to stop. Pittsburgh will win this game in front of their Heinz Field fans. This team is a dangerous team where betting futures are concerned.

Pick- Pittsburgh +1 1/2

Oakland Raiders (0-7) at Seattle Seahawks (4-3)
Russell Wilson and the defending champion Seahawks have been winning for the most part, but have been sweating out games. This week, they face an Oakland Raiders team who is ready to pick up the #1 pick in next years draft.

Oakland has a bit of talent, but Seattle defense should shut the Raiders down. Not only that, Seattle running back, Marshawn Lynch will be playing at home and thats where he excels. Get out the Skittles as Lynch should play a major role in this game along with the combination of Wilson to Doug Baldwin. Baldwin has come on strong lately and without Percy Harvin, this will help the passing game. Oakland stands no chance here; its just a matter of Seattle covering the number.

Pick- Seattle -13.5

New York Jets (1-7) at Kansas City Chiefs (4-3)
Last week, New York quarterback, Geno Smith threw 3 touchdowns in the first few minutes of the 1st quarter in a 43-23 loss ot the Buffalo Bills. This week, Michael Vick has practiced the entire week with the 1st team and should be prepared as he starts against his old coach Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs. Everything in this game points to a Kansas City blowout, but the Jets do have some options on offense in Eric Decker, Christopher Ivory, and Jace Amaro and a top notch defensive line.

Where the Chiefs are concerned, it's all a matter of running back Jamaal Charles staying healthy as he's one of the best running backs in the NFL when healthy. I think the Chiefs playing style is perfect for the Jets to be competitive and cover the 9 point betting spread. Look for the old Michael Vick to show up at Arrowhead Stadium as the 1-7 Jets give the Kansas City Chiefs a run for their money.

Pick- Jets +9
