Los Angeles Rams vs. Miami Dolphins

Sunday, November 1st, 2020 – 1:00 PM ET at Hard Rock Stadium

The 5-2 Rams travel back across the country for the 4th time this season for an early kick-off game against one of the surprise teams of the AFC. The 3-3 Miami Dolphins who will be giving rookie Tua Tagovailoa his first start under center. What better way to start your career than being introduced to Aaron Donald.

The Jared Goff led Rams have swept the NFC East this year for 4 of their 5 wins with the other coming in comfortable style against the Bears on Monday night. That was one of the better defenses in the league and they didn’t have many issues moving the ball against them. When Goff has time he’s one of the better in the league, as McVay manages to scheme players open with creative play-calling. They’ve got a good committee backfield with Henderson and Brown, as well as one of the better WR duos in the league in Kupp and Woods.

This pick is half my trust in McVay and the Rams and half fading a rookie QB making his first start in the NFL. Despite being in the running for the AFC East (the same price as the Patriots for the division according to the NFL bookmakers), they made the move to Tua as they must have planned pre-season, he looked fine in clean-up work vs. the Jets, but rookies tend to struggle in their first game. Going up against Aaron Donald's pass rush and Jalen Ramsey’s coverage won’t be easy for him.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens

Sunday, November 1st, 2020 - 1:00 PM ET at M&T Bank Stadium

The Steelers roll into Baltimore as the only unbeaten team left in the league, knowing that a win against their bitter rivals will put them practically out of reach in the AFC North. The Ravens are coming off their bye week. They know that they need to win this one to keep their chances of the division and a bye week in the playoffs alive.

The Steelers defeated the now 5-1 Tennessee Titans last week in what ended as a pretty close game. However, the Steelers were in charge for most of the 4 quarters. They have the ground game going with Conner, Diontae Johnson was back. Chase Claypool looks like a talented rookie, and even Juju got some yards for once. It all starts with the offensive line, which is one of the best units in the league.

They will have to be a good unit this week, as the Ravens further strengthened their D-Line this week by picking up Yannick Ngakoue from the Vikings to add to their pass rush. It was already good, but this just gives them even more upfront. They haven’t been great on offense so far, but the week off will have given Lamar Jackson some time to recover from a knee injury, which I think has slowed him recently.

This is a grudge match with a lot on the line, the Steelers are rolling at the moment though, so I’ll take them at plus money on the best betting sites to get the win here.

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Cleveland Browns

Sunday, November 1st, 2020 - 1:00 PM ET at Paul Brown Stadium

The Raiders are coming off a big home defeat against the Bucs. Meanwhile, the Browns won a close, high-scoring battle of Ohio against the Bengals last week. Baker Mayfield finally put together a decent game with 5 TD passes.

Both of these teams have been involved in high scoring games all season. 5 of 6, and 5 of 7 going over the totals set by the NFL Odds this season. I see no reason why that would stop this week.

Derek Carr has been playing well this year using his big-play guys well. Henry Ruggs has been getting open downfield, and the Browns don’t have anyone with the pace to keep up with him. Darren Waller has been doing his thing in the middle of the field, and Josh Jacobs is a talented back.

The Browns will try to run the ball a lot with Kareem Hunt. They showed this week that they might be a better unit without Odell Beckham. He went out early in their win against the Bengals. Not having to funnel targets to him could open up the offense and allow others to shine.
