The Panthers opened as 3-point favorites on the NFL odds  and the line hasn't moved yet, and if it does, you'd think it would move more towards Carolina. The Panthers have a great defense that has been excellent without Luke Kuechly, while Cam Newton has been playing within himself and the Bucs have a rookie QB in Jameis Winston who has shown glimpses of promises, but he isn't there yet. A lot of that has to do with the team around him, but Winston has to step up or else it could be a long season.

Kuechly still needs to be cleared of concussion symptoms before he can suit up, while fellow LB Thomas Davis is questionable with a pectoral injury. DE Charles Johnson has a bad hamstring, so the Panthers went out and traded a conditional sixth-round pick for Jared Allen from Chicago, which means they're basically paying nothing for a veteran pass rusher. If it works out, fine, if not, no harm, no foul.

CB Johnthan Banks left the the Buccaneers' loss to Houston with a knee injury and will be evaluated throughout the week, but that is the only concern that Tampa Bay has in regards to injuries. They need all hands on deck if they're going to be a better football team and they're not as far off as you think.

The Panthers are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games, and in their last nine overall, they're 8-1 SU. The Panthers are also 4-5-1 SU in their last 10 on the road, but 5-4-1 ATS, while the Buccaneers are 0-10 SU and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 at home. Overall, the Bucs are 2-8 SU in their last 10, but a decent 5-5 ATS.

Carolina is 6-4 SU in their last 10 meetings with the Buccaneers, splitting them ATS, and in Tampa Bay, the Panthers are 3-7 SU and 6-4 ATS in their last 10. Seven of those 10 games in Tampa Bay have gone over the total.
