We had a nice 2-1 day of prop picks in Week 2, so we’re back at it in Week-3 with another full slate of NFL action on Sunday. Looking at BetOnline sportsbook, here are a pair of picks that will definitely add some value to your Week 3 NFL Picks.
Aaron Rodgers O/U 282 ½ Passing Yards
Aaron Rodgers has been on fire for the first few weeks of the season, and now he is up against the Bengals, who have not scored a touchdown through the first two weeks. Even though that drought will likely end this week, the Packers’ defense has proven to be pretty formidable over the first few weeks of the season, so Rodgers could end up having the ball in his hands a lot once again.
That will likely lead to plenty of looks for Ty Montgomery if the Bengals fall behind a lot, but even with Randall Cobb likely not playing for this one, the Packers still have plenty of options in the passing game.
Jordy Nelson is good to go for this one, and I expect him and Davante Adams to both have big games. Along with that duo, Martellus Bennett should also have an expanded role in the offense with Cobb likely out.
There is also the factor of the Bengals defense. Through the first two weeks of the season, the Bengals have played mediocre passing games in Houston and Baltimore. Now they are facing one of the best in the league on the road, and that is going to spell bad news for this unit.
I think this game will be closer than previous Bengals games this season, which is another reason I like Rodgers to have to put the ball in the air more. I see another 300-plus passing yards from Rodgers this week as long as the Bengals can score some points. So, the first of my NFL picks today is OVER the passing yards total.
Martellus Bennett O/U 3 ½ Receptions
With Cobb banged up, this game also presents some nice value with the Packers’ tight end. Marty B had 5 catches on 11 targets last week, and while he has struggled with several dropped passes to start the season, I see the veteran turning things around against Cincinnati this week.
Bennett likely won’t see another 11 targets, but eight or nine is certainly in the cards for him this week, and that should be enough to get 4 or more catches. Even with his drop concerns, a 50% catch rate is all we need to cash this prop for the over if Bennett can get 8 targets.
So far through two weeks, other than Jason Witten and Zach Ertz, Bennett has the most targets of any tight end in the league. I see the continuing, so hopefully, Bennett doesn’t drop too many balls and can get to 4 catches.
