Some of the best online sportsbooks deal NFL prop bets that are off the radar for the casual sports bettor. Let’s explore some of these tempting options in Week 2.

Total Passing Yards for Josh Allen in Week 2?
  • Over 217½ (-105)
  • Under 217½ (-135)

Allen will get his first start as an NFL quarterback for a Bills team that was crushed in its opener. The seventh overall pick in the 2018 draft will line up against a Chargers defense missing Joey Bosa, one of the league’s most ferocious pass rushers and a unit that allowed last week’s opponent to throw for 424 yards in a 38-28 loss to Kansas City. We don’t suspect Allen will come close to those numbers delivered by the Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes, but we do believe that notching 218 yards through the air is certainly attainable on this Bovada prop.

Pick: Over 217½ yards.

How Many First Half First Downs Will Bills Record in Week 2?
  • Over 9½ (Even)
  • Under 9½ (-140)

The squares will look at the NFL odds being dealt by Bovada at 9½ first downs in the first half for Buffalo like a big bowl of ice cream waiting to be devoured considering the Bills managed just 10 in the entire game last week against Baltimore. But looks can be deceiving, and with Allen under center and a week of team meetings and practices in which the team was taken to task for its lackluster performance we can expect much better. Not only will Allen avoid facing Joey Bosa (injury) breathing down his back, but we expect a big game out of LeSean McCoy, who faces a Chargers defense that has allowed the most yards per carry to running backs since the beginning of last season.

Pick: Over 9½ first-half first downs.

Who Will Throw More Interceptions in Week 2?
  • Ben Roethlisberger (-150)
  • Case Keenum (+110)

We should see an uptick in the Steelers’ overall performance from last week when they allowed the lowly Cleveland Browns to salvage a 21-21 tie by shutting them out 14-0 in the final quarter. Roethlisberger looked distracted with only one touchdown and three interceptions. This week Big Ben will take on the Chiefs defense that had one pick against their opening week opponent, and we expect a better and more cautious performance.

Denver’s Keenum had three passes intercepted as well last week yet the oddsmakers are making Roethlisberger the chalk in this matchup. The Broncos opponent in Week 2, the Oakland Raiders, had no picks against their Week 1 opponent, but that could change in Mile High this week. Keenum was downright sloppy in the season opener, and despite Oakland’s pedestrian defense it wouldn’t surprise us at all to see the veteran quarterback toss a pair of picks this week. Roethlisberger is a bigger talent and less susceptible to careless passes.

Pick: Keenum.

Total TD Passes for Ryan Fitzpatrick in Week 2?
  • Over 1½ (+125)
  • Under 1½ (-165)

Fitzpatrick made everyone forget about Jameis Winston in the Bucs’ 48-40 stunner over divisional rival New Orleans, but will he be able to duplicate that performance this week against the Eagles? The short answer is … no. The Eagles boast a far superior defense than the sieve-like Saints and Fitzpatrick is a journeyman in the twilight of a mediocre career. Although we are not thrilled about laying the lumber, we also know there is no value in losing when you take a contrarian side just for the sake of doing so.

Pick: Under 1½ TD passes.
