Will the Cardinals come through as the road favorites when they take on the Bears in week 2 NFL betting? Here’s our NFL betting preview complete with NFL picks.

Arizona (1-0, 0-0 away)
The Arizona Cardinals are coming off a season-opening win over the New Orleans Saints. Carson Palmer was sharp and focused in his first game back since tearing his ACL last season, throwing for three touchdowns and 307 yards in a 31-19 win. On the defensive side of the ball, the Cardinals stood tall and strong, forcing the Saints to settle for four field goals, despite Drew Brees going for 30-of-48 for 355 yards and a touchdown.

Although Palmer had his sensational start to last season cut short prematurely when he injured his knee, he appears to be picking up from where he left off. He’s now 7-0 SU and 6-1 ATS in his last seven straight starts. If he can remain injury free, Arizona Cardinals will warrant a serious look as viable NFC West title challengers.

As far as week 2 NFL betting goes, his solid form and poise as the shot-caller underscores the team’s favourable NFL odds. Sports betting shops are installing the Cardinals as the road favorites to win straight up at -130 NFL odds or thereabouts depending on your choice sportsbook. They are also trading as the 1.5-point (-110) favorites against the spread.

Chicago (0-1, 0-1 home)
The Chicago Bears showed a lot of heart and intensity in their season opener with the Green Bay Packers. Unfortunately, the result remained the same as they slipped to yet another defeat to their divisional rivals.

It’s a mixed verdict as far as the 31-23 loss at Soldier Field goes where the Bears are concerned. Jay Cutler had some good moments and some not so good, going 18-of-36 for 225 yards and a touchdown and 1 interception. Matt Forte had 24 carries for 141 yards and 1 touchdown and looked to be the X-factor in the game, until the Packers rallied and found their rhythm.

John Fox is a widely respected coach and he brings exceptional tactical nous to the windy city. He’s a master at picking apart opposing teams, finding their weaknesses and developing a strategical approach that’ll deliver the win. The caveat: his team needs to execute it on the field.

They failed to do that against the Packers, despite what looked to be a solid game plan. It requires Jay Cutler mainly to be sharp and that much better than his counterpart, which he was not against MVP Aaron Rodgers. In Carson Palmer he comes across another quarterback that is simply hot and on fire right now. It remains to be seen how he holds up this time, but most NFL bettors aren’t holding their breaths. It’s Jay Cutler after all and he can’t help being himself, which in the balance of quarterbacks is modest at best.

NFL Betting Verdict
Nobody can be surprised about the NFL betting outlook for this game. The Cardinals are a disciplined, no nonsense lot that are well coached by Bruce Arians. Carson Palmer is finding sublime form at the moment and he looks to figure amongst the top passers this season if he maintains his pace and stays healthy. As such, the Cardinals as the nominal 1.5-point favourites practically leap off the page as the value NFL pick, along with their equally good NFL odds to win straight up at -130.
