Games To Bet Now

Week 16 brings some Saturday NFL action due to the college bowl season and there may be a few games on Saturday that are worth putting in some action now.

Houston has been hammered by the sharps and public alike and it has seen some of the biggest movement to date. After opening as a PK, Houston has hit -3 at some shops. However, there are still some books hanging out at -2 or -2.5, so if you’re in to chasing the steam, grab it now before all the books are at or north of three points.

Another Saturday game that might be worth a bet now is the Bills and Patriots. New England is a -6.5 favorite and if they are going to see the steam this week, there is little chance you’ll be able to get that number this low by the time game time rolls around. There are a couple shops at -6 too, which could be -7 by Saturday.

After Philly caught an L in Week 15 they have been faded a ton by NFL bettors. They are back at home this week but everyone loves Dallas on the road. They have gone from -1 to -2.5 and it would not surprise me to see it touch -3 by Sunday afternoon.

Finally, news came out that Will Grier will be getting the start for the Panthers this week and all of a sudden, the Colts look like a great bet at -6.5 at home. Even on the short week, they may have T.Y. Hilton back that week and with the home field advantage and a much better defense and offense, the Colts may have double-digit win upside. I would not be surprised to see the Colts catch some steam and jump to -7 or -7.5.

Games To Wait On

Week 16 is a tough one. Teams are mostly still fighting for the playoffs, but like the Panthers, they may switch into player evaluation mode rather than trying to win. There is still a hot battle for the number two overall pick that may play into the strategies for some teams this week.

Namely the Dolphins, who are hosting Cincinnati, the eventual owners of the number one pick. Miami, Washington and New York are all 3-11 heading into Week 16 and you can bet that none of those teams want to win this week.

The Bengals have already seen a ton of action knowing that even if they win they are still the top pick, but that could also be fading the Dolphins as well.

New York and Washington play each other as well and while one team has to win, this one may be a game to just fade altogether. The team that loses will win much more in the long run, so I’d stay away unless you find another edge that could give some value.
