Detroit Lions look to continue their impressive form at the expense of the Chicago Bears in week 14. Find out how we line up our SU, ATS, and Total NFL picks.

Chicago Bears vs Detroit Lions

Point Spread Value

The Lions are the third best team against the spread this season. Standing tall with an 8-4-0 ATS mark that includes a 2.0 winning margin and +2.5 differential versus the spread, it’s no wonder the Lions are the vogue NFL pick in various circles. At home, they are the league-leaders versus the spread with a 5-1-0 ATS mark that includes a 2.7 winning margin and +0.8 differential versus the spread. According to those stats, the touchdown line that is currently trading does seem like a lot of points to lay with the Lions for week 14 NFL picks. Then again, consider they face Chicago. The Bears are as feisty as new born cub with a 1-5-0 ATS mark on the road that includes a -12.8 losing margin and -8.2 differential versus the spread.

The Survivor

No team has turned around its season as the Detroit Lions. The 1-3 SU mark to start the season had most NFL experts and pundits writing off the Lions not only in the NFC North but also the broad spectrum of the season. Guess Matthew Stafford and Company didn’t get the memo as they’ve gone 7-1 SU in the ensuing eight games. The only misstep was a 20-13 loss to the Texans on the road. The hapless Bears don’t stand a chance, surely. What? The Bears beat the Lions this season? Ha…that seems ages ago. Wasn’t another quarterback calling the shots for the Bears, anyway?

Game Total

Matthew Stafford is making a case for the regular season MVP award with his solid play, but the Lions are only 4-8-0 in O/U betting thanks to solid defending. Simply put, the Lions are playing solid football on both sides of the field. The Bears aren’t any better than a junior football team right now and a win over the Niners last week doesn’t change who they are: just a bad football team.
