NFL Week 13 Updated Odds, Line Moves and Picks

There are seven games in Week 13 with a spread of at least seven points, so the indications are that this could be a week of blowouts. We track the line movement and break down the updated NFL Week 13 odds.
The Miami Dolphins went from 3-point favorites at the opening to 4.5-point favorites against the New York Giants by Thursday morning. There is some concern about the health of Giants QB Daniel Jones.
Also, the total of the Monday Night Football contest between the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills has fallen from 42.5 to 40.5. The Patriots have allowed 26 points in their last four games.
Here’s a look at the NFL odds for Week 13, along with my picks based on the updated lines (odds via FanDuel Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale):
Updated NFL Odds, Line Moves and Picks for Week 13
Cowboys (7-4 SU, 8-3 ATS, 6-5 O/U) vs. Saints (5-6 SU, 5-6 ATS, 6-5 O/U)
Opening line: Cowboys -6Current line: Cowboys -4.5
Opening total: 47.5Current total: 47.5
Cowboys WR Amari Cooper is questionable but has been activated from COVID-19 protocol so it would seem likely he returns but the bigger gain for the Saints is that RB Mark Ingram is not on the injury report and and the line has moved in the Saints’ direction.
Pick: Saints +4.5 (???), Under 47.5 (??)
Vikings (5-6 SU, 6-5 ATS, 6-5 O/U) vs. Lions (0-10-1 SU, 7-4 ATS, 3-8 O/U)
Opening line: Vikings -7Current line: Vikings -7
Opening total: 46.5Current total: 46.5
It turns out that Lions RB D’Andre Swift is out, possibly for multiple weeks, due to a shoulder injury and that’s not a great situation for a Lions team that lacks weapons. The Vikings are 2-4 on the road and the Lions are 3-2 ATS as home underdogs.
Pick: Lions +7 (??), Under 46.5 (???)
Cardinals (9-2 SU, 8-3 ATS, 5-6 O/U) vs. Bears (4-7 SU, 4-7 ATS, 3-8 O/U)
Opening line: Cardinals -7.5Current line: Cardinals -7.5
Opening total: 45.5Current total: 45.5
The big issue is whether Cardinals QB Kyler Murray and WR DeAndre Hopkins can return to the lineup as Arizona emerges from a bye week. At this point, it appears possible. Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds is out but they have James Conner to run the rock. Naturally, the Bears’ best chance will be if the Cardinals’ stars have to sit out for another week.
Pick: Cardinals -7.5 (??), Over 45.5 (??)
Buccaneers (8-3 SU, 5-6 ATS, 6-5 O/U) vs. Falcons (5-6 SU, 5-6 ATS, 5-6 O/U)
Opening line: Buccaneers -10.5Current line: Buccaneers -11
Opening total: 50.5Current total: 50.5
The Bucs should have too many weapons for the Falcons to handle but Tampa Bay has also not been blowing teams out away from home and, as a result, is 1-5 ATS on the road.
Pick: Falcons +11 (??), Over 50.5 (??)
Colts (6-6 SU, 7-5 ATS, 8-4 O/U) vs. Texans (2-9 SU, 5-6 ATS, 4-7 O/U)
Opening line: Colts -8.5Current line: Colts -9.5
Opening total: 46.5Current total: 45.5
The Colts were on a good run before losing to Tampa Bay last week. Speaking of runs, Colts RB Jonathan Taylor and his league-leading 1,205 rushing yards go up against a Texans defense surrendering 135.6 rushing yards per game, the second-highest per-game average in the league.
Pick: Colts -9.5 (????), Over 45.5 (??)
Eagles (5-7 SU, 6-6 ATS, 6-6 O/U) vs. Jets (3-8 SU, 3-8 ATS, 6-5 O/U)
Opening line: Eagles -7Current line: Eagles -7
Opening total: 46.5Current total: 45.5
Both teams are battling injuries at skill spots. Jets WR Keelan Cole is on the COVID-19 list and Corey Davis, who missed Week 12, remains questionable. It’s not as though the Jets have enough weapons to just roll on without those guys. Eagles RB Miles Sanders (ankle) and RB Jordan Howard (knee) are both questionable, potentially leaving Boston Scott to handle a heavier workload.
Pick: Jets +7 (??), Under 45.5 (???)
Chargers (6-5 SU, 5-6 ATS, 4-7 O/U) vs. Bengals (7-4 SU, 6-5 ATS, 5-6 O/U)
Opening line: Bengals -3Current line: Bengals -3
Opening total: 50.5Current total: 50.5
The Chargers are stumbling, losing four of their last six games, and eking out the two wins in that span. Which team will show up against a Bengals side that has put up at least 30 points in five of the last six games?
Pick: Bengals -3 (??), Over 50.5 (???)

Giants (4-7 SU, 6-5 ATS, 3-7-1 O/U) vs. Dolphins (5-7 SU, 6-5-1 ATS, 5-7 O/U)
Opening line: Dolphins -3Current line: Dolphins -4.5
Opening total: 42.5Current total: 40.5
Jones may not be able to play this week due to a neck injury, though he practiced on Wednesday. If he can’t go, Mike Glennon will take over and that’s not a great situation for a Giants team taking on a much-improved Dolphins side that has won four straight games.
Pick: Dolphins -4.5 (???), Under 40.5 (???)
Washington (5-6 SU, 4-7 ATS, 5-6 O/U) vs. Raiders (6-5 SU, 5-6 ATS, 6-5 O/U)
Opening line: Raiders -2.5Current line: Raiders -2.5
Opening total: 49.5Current total: 49.5
The big challenge this week for the Raiders is that star TE Darren Waller appears likely to miss this week and he is the most dangerous playmaker on the roster. Washington RB J.D. McKissic has his status in doubt due to a concussion, which might affect the Washington passing game a little but not to the same degree.
Pick: Raiders -2.5 (??), Under 49.5 (??)
Ravens (8-3 SU, 5-6 ATS, 5-6 O/U) vs. Steelers (5-5-1 SU, 4-7 ATS, 4-6-1 O/U)
Opening line: Ravens -3Current line: Ravens -4.5
Opening total: 44Current total: 44
The Steelers are reeling, having allowed 41 points in back-to-back games, but the Ravens are not exactly in peak form either. They have three wins in the past five games but none of those were particularly impressive.
Pick: Steelers +4.5 (???), Under 44 (??)

Jaguars (2-9 SU, 4-7 ATS, 2-9 O/U) vs. Rams (7-4 SU, 4-7 ATS, 6-4-1 O/U)
Opening line: Rams -13Current line: Rams -13
Opening total: 48Current total: 47.5
This game has a large number hanging there considering that the Rams have lost three in a row and are dealing with some injuries. RB Darrell Henderson Jr. is questionable because of a thigh injury and WR Odell Beckham Jr. has a hip issue.
Pick: Jaguars +13 (??), Under 47.5 (???)
49ers (6-5 SU, 5-6 ATS, 6-5 O/U) vs. Seahawks (3-8 SU, 5-6 ATS, 1-9-1 O/U)
Opening line: 49ers -2.5Current line: 49ers -3
Opening total: 46.5Current total: 45.5
The Seahawks have looked so bad over the last three weeks, since coming out of their bye week, that even though the 49ers are going to be without game-breaking WR Deebo Samuel for the next 1-2 weeks, the line still moved in San Francisco’s direction. It's difficult to find an argument in favor of the Seahawks at this point.
Pick: 49ers -3 (??), Under 45.5 (???)
Broncos (6-5 SU, 6-5 ATS, 2-9 O/U) vs. Chiefs (7-4 SU, 4-7 ATS, 5-6 O/U)
Opening line: Chiefs -9.5Current line: Chiefs -9.5
Opening total: 48.5Current total: 47.5
Following a 3-4 start to the season, the Chiefs have won four straight games and, oddly enough, it has not been their vaunted offense making the difference. In three of those four wins, the Chiefs scored 20 or fewer points. That could give the Broncos, who have won three of four, a chance to keep the game close against a Chiefs side that is 1-5 ATS as home favorites.
Pick: Broncos +9.5 (??), Over 47.5 (???)
Patriots (8-4 SU, 8-4 ATS, 6-6 O/U) vs. Bills (7-4 SU, 6-4-1 ATS, 5-6 O/U)
Opening line: Bills -3Current line: Bills -2.5
Opening total: 44.5Current total: 42.5
The line has moved slightly in the Patriots’ direction and it’s understandable. They have won six straight games by an average margin of 24.6 points per game, so going against the Patriots is a challenge. The Bills are 3-3 in their last six games and that inconsistency puts this game in doubt.
PICK: Bills -2.5 (??), Over 42.5 (???)
