Overall NFL Betting Recap
Adding week 13's NFL betting results, favourites edge underdogs 124-64-1 SU and 92-91-4 ATS. Home teams have gone 110-76-1 against road teams in SU betting and 95-89-3 against the spread. Finally, over-under betting sits at 95-91-3 through 13 weeks of NFL betting.

Thanksgiving Thursday Football Betting
Although the Lions got the favourites off on the right foot with a 34-17 win over the Bears, covering the 7-point spread handily, the underdogs eventually ruled the day. Both the Eagles and Seahawks defied the NFL odds SU and against the spread respectively. The Eagles stunned the Cowboys 33-10 all while covering as the 3.5-point road favourites and the +155 road underdogs (thereabouts depending on your sportsbook of choice), and the Seahawks smothered the Niners in a 19-3 win all while covering as the nominal 1.5-point road chalk. It marked their first win against the Niners in five outings to San Francisco.

Home Sweet Home
Sunday's round of NFL betting saw eight of 12 home teams come through for NFL bettors. Of the lot, the most surprising winners at home were the Jaguars, who defied the odds to beat the Giants 25-24. Jaguars were matched as the 3-point home pups and the +120 SU bet.

Another home dog to punch above its perceived weight class was Atlanta. Falcons entered their clash with the Cardinals at the 1.5-point disadvantage only to defy the odds with a 29-18 win.

Vikings heaped more misery on the Panthers with a 31-13 win all while covering as the 3-point home chalk and the -140 SU NFL pick. And the Bills advanced their bid for a playoff spot in the AFC Conference with a convincing 26-10 win over the Browns as the mere 2.5-point home chalk.

Colts proved to be the biggest home favourites to cover when they beat the Redskins 49-27. Opening NFL odds had the Colts matched on 9.5-to10-points across various sports betting platforms but as the week wore on they were bet down to 8.5-points or thereabouts on various trading floors.

Joining the Colts were the Rams, who ran away 52-0 winners over the Raiders, marking the most lopsided victory of the season. Rams were matched as high as  7-point favourites before closing around 6-points. Another surprising home performance came from the Texans, who beat the Titans 45-21 behind Ryan Fitzpatrick and a career high six touchdowns. Texans opened as the 6.5-point favourites but closed around the 7-point mark.

Finally, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers maintained their impeccable home record when they beat the Patriots 26-21. Packers, who were matched as the 4-point favourites in early markets but slipped to 3-points (or thereabouts) in late markets cashed for sharp NFL bettors. Bulk of the action was recorded in the Patriots camp, hovering around 70% market stake.

Road Warriors
Road teams enjoyed their fair share of success in week 13 NFL betting, some of which were favourites while others were underdogs. The most surprising result of the lot, arguably, was the 35-32 win by the Saints at the expense of the Steelers. Saints cashed as the +175 road underdogs and covered against the spread (they opened as 3-point road underdogs and closed as 3.5-point pups).

The Chargers raised some eyebrows as well when a last-gasp drive saw them clinch the narrow 34-33 win at the expense of the Ravens. Chargers, who at opening doors were matched as the 4-point road dogs but moved up to 6.5-points, covered and cashed as the +220 road pups in SU betting.

Bengals came through for SU bettors as the -165 NFL pick to beat the Bucs but failed to cover against the spread. Indeed, NFL betting lines opened with the Bengals installed as the 3-point road favourites. By closing time they were bet up to 6-points, marking one of the biggest jumps on the NFL odds board.

Finally, the Denver Broncos were clutch in a 29-16 win over divisional rivals Kansas City Chiefs. Although opening odds had the Broncos favoured at 1.5-points the NFL lines were bet down to a pick'em by closing doors.

Notable Total Outlook
The Eagles-Cowboys, Redskins-Colts and Patriots-Packers all boasted 50-plus totals. While the first two went OVER preset totals, the latter came well UNDER. indeed, it was the highest total at 57.5-to-58 points on the NFL odds board. Finally, the Broncos-Chiefs matchup, which was set to 49.5-points also scored well UNDER NFL betting expectations.

Texans served up one of the highest scoring accounts on the week's NFL betting card, a 66-point extravaganza that they pushed OVER the 43-point total singlehandedly. Colts, naturally, took the prize for the highest scoring affair in their 49-27 win over the Redskins.

The most shocking OVER came in the Raiders-Rams game as the entire total was accounted for by the hosts in 52-0 win.

Finally, Seattle scored their second straight 19-3 win in as many weeks and second straight UNDER. The UNDER cashed in Buffalo's 26-10 win over the Browns, marking the tenth UNDER for the Bills this season (2-10 in over-under betting).
