Our NFL handicapper provides us with an early betting preview on Sunday’s game between San Francisco and Chicago. Join us in reading this intriguing article which concludes with his NFL pick.

49ers in “The Windy City” on Sunday
The Bears (5-6) and 49ers (3-8) will clash on Sunday in a NFC matchup. The opening kickoff at Soldier Field in Chicago is slated for 1:00 PM ET. Current (12/2) NFL odds at Bookmaker have Chicago as a 7-point favorite, and the posted total is 43. These teams met last season in San Francisco, and Chicago came away with a 28-20 win as a 7-point underdog. That game barely went over the total of 47.

Road Pushovers
San Francisco has been horrible on the road thus far in 2015, going 0-5, and losing by an average of 21.0 points per game. They also failed to cover on four of those five occasions, and the lone exception came as a 7.5 point underdog in a narrow 30-27 loss to the Giants. The 49ers offense has been dreadful recently, scoring 17 points or less in each of their previous five games. They’re allowing a whopping 35.2 points and 464.0 yards per game on the road.

Cardiac Kids
When you take a look at recent Bears results, the old Saturday Night Live skits come to mind. During those hysterical moments, a couple of obese beer drinking and overeating fans were regularly treated for cardiac conditions, following the conclusion of each game played by their beloved Bears. Chicago has seen seven of their last eight games be decided by 4 points or less. They’ve gone 4-3 during that stretch, and their three losses came by a combined 7 points. With a little bit of luck, Chicago can very easily be 8-3 at this juncture instead of 5-6. In any event, they enter this week just 1 game behind Seattle who holds down the final NFC wild card spot. Only one (Vikings) of the Bears final five opponents currently has a winning record. Their remaining three home games come against opponents that enter this week with a cumulative record of 12-21 (.364).

Final Thoughts and Pick
Chicago is clearly playing the better football right now compared to San Francisco. However, four of their five wins this season have come by 4 points or less, and they’ve gone a dismal 1-4 at Soldier Field in 2015. Contrarily, I certainly can’t pull the trigger on a 49ers team that’s been nothing short of pathetic in their away games. I’m going to have a small early lean toward this game being a high scoring affair, and one of my NFL picks this week will back that prediction.
