Week 10 of the NFL season has come and gone, and now we only have seven weeks of regular season football left. Here is a look at some of the more intriguing opening NFL Odds for the 11th week of the regular season.
Cowboys vs. Dolphins
While Miami seems to be slowly turning things around after the firing of Joe Philbin, the Cowboys are in the midst of what looks like a lost season. However, they are still not mathematically eliminated even after losing every game since Tony Romo went down with injury. However, the NFL Odds have the line between these two teams at a virtual PK with the Cowboys on the road, and that can only mean that Romo has a good chance at coming back this week.
The Cowboys and Romo have said that the Dallas QB will make his return to the lineup this week after breaking his clavicle earlier in the season. With the Giants loss to the Patriots over the weekend, the Cowboys still have an outside shot at the playoffs if they can string together some wins, as well as get some help from their divisional rival’s opponents.
However, are the sportsbooks trying to entice Cowboys fans to believe in their team enough to make a wager this week? Despite the fact that even with Romo back, the Dolphins are probably still a better play at home. It remains to be seen what kind of line movement we’ll see, but overall this line seems fishy if you like Dallas.
Colts vs. Falcons
Both Atlanta and Indianapolis are coming off of Week 10 byes, and both have their sights set on getting a win this week to bolster their playoff chances. Atlanta needs a win to stay in the NFC wildcard race, as well as the NFC South divisional battle with the undefeated Panthers, while the Colts are desperate to get back to .500, despite the fact that they will be without Andrew Luck for some, if not most of the remainder of the regular season.
The NFL odds have the Falcons as -6 home favorites in this one, and with Matt Hasselbeck starting for the Colts, you have to like the Falcons’ chances. The Colts’ problems on both sides of the ball might be accelerated because of Luck’s absence. Their offensive line will still have a hard time protecting Hasselbeck, and their defense is going to have their hands full with a rested Devonta Freeman. These NFL odds might even go up to -7, or even -7 ½ by the end of the week, so if you like the Falcons, now might be the time to strike this line for your NFL picks.
Bills vs. Jets
After a thrilling 40-32 victory over the Bills in the second week of the season, the Patriots are facing off against them again in Week 11, this time in Boston. The NFL odds have the Patriots as solid -7 favorites, with sportsbooks like 5Dimes having the line at -9 (+115). This is even after the apparent loss of Julian Edelman for most, if not the rest of the regular season.
Edelman broke his foot in last week’s game against the Giants, and it appears as if he may be out for quite some time. Without him, the Patriots will have to lean more heavily on Rob Gronkowski, and even though it might not affect their prospects this week, the loss of Edelman and Dion Lewis do hurt the Pats’ chances of coming out of the AFC. However, for this week, it doesn’t appear to be too big of a loss according to the sportsbooks.
