It's time for some football. As we look at the preseason schedule for Friday, one thing which is very noticeable is the low betting total listed by the sportsbooks. Follow our NFL Picks of the Day as we provide the bettors the best opportunity to make a profit.

Miami Dolphins vs N.Y. Giants

No Coughlin, No Problem
Reporters are making a big issue out of the Tom Coughlin's transition from head coach of the New York Giants to his job with the NFL as an organization and I don't see it. The Giants basically come back this season with the same group of core players, led by 2 time Super Bowl Champion quarterback, Eli Manning. Although he's getting up in age, the one thing that the Giants don't have to worry about with Eli is his durability as he's the Brett Favre of his generation.

Aside from having the most gifted wide receiver in the game in Odell Beckham Jr, the Giants will have a healthy Victor Cruz and they can only hope that he reverts back to his old form of a few years ago and not his recent play where he dropped a ton of balls thrown his way. As for Beckham Jr., he's coming off of a 1450 yard season in which he caught nearly 100 passes and 13 TD's. I actually think that he's a better player than these numbers indicate and if he gets enough playing time, the Miami secondary will find this out also. Look for Beckham Jr. to make an impact after a disastrous Pro Bowl from last season.

Depth at the Running Back Position
This is where I think the Giants have an advantage in a game like this. They have no definitive superstar as Rashad Jennings is their go to running back. Last season, Jennings ran for 863 yards and 3 TD's in limited action. Expect Jennings to get a significant amount of playing time as the Giants have running backs Andre Williams and Shane Vereen, who will also fill in the void when Jennings is not on the field. Vereen is a running back that will do anything that the situation requires him to and his ability to catch out of the backfield makes him valuable. Quality depth will win out in most preseason games.

Is He a Star or Isn't He?
This is a crucial season for Dolphins quarterback, Ryan Tannehill. His statistics indicate that he's a star, but this Dolphins team hasn't accomplished much in the past few seasons and it's time for Tannehill to win now.

He has two studs with unlimited potential in the form of Lamar Miller (872 yards rushing and 8 TD's) and wide receiver Jarvis Landry (110 receptions, 1157 yards , 4 TD's). How much will these two players be used in this game will have a major impact on the final score? You'll see them play the 1st half at the most especially at the wide receiver position as the Fins are loaded at this position.

I'm expecting the Giants ground game and defense to control this game and New York will cover the spread here for my NFL pick.

Oakland Raiders vs Arizona Cardinals

Needing To Win Now
The Arizona Cardinals come into this season as a serious Super Bowl contender, but this is a veteran club, led by quarterback Carson Palmer and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. These two players are loaded with talent but are on the tail ends of their prime as they're getting up there in age. The bottom line is the Cardinals need to stay healthy and need to win now because they might not have many more chances.

With the need to stay healthy, players such as running back, David Johnson (581 yards, 8 TD), may not see a ton of time as he was a big difference maker late last season and the Cards can ill-afford for DJ to get hurt. Luckily for Arizona, they're a very deep team with Andre Ellington and Chris Johnson (814 yards, 3 TD) as David Johnson's backup. Two key players that we won't see are wide receiver, John Brown and "The Honey Badger", Tyrann Mathieu. A game without Matthieu is always a loss, but the Cardinals are the far superior team in this matchup despite the emergence of Oakland quarterback, Derek Carr.

A Legitimate QB For the Raiders
The Oakland Raiders have been waiting for years for a star quarterback and now they have one in the form of Derek Carr. Carr was a real leader on the field in 2015, throwing for nearly 4000 yards along with 32 TD and 13 INT. He's only going to get better and with Latavius Murray (1066 yards, 6 TD's) in the backfield, this provides the element of surprise and has put Oakland on the next level where success is concerned.

Expect to see a lot of Derek Carr as he's a gamer and he should make an impact in this preseason matchup. When Carr is lifted, Matt McGloin will take over and he should keep this game competitive as he possesses a lot of the same attributes as Carr. While both teams possess a lot of quality in the depth department, the Arizona Cardinals are simply on a different level where talent and experience are concerned. If head coach, Bruce Arians, keeps his top guys in the game for an extended period of time, the Cardinals should have no problem winning and covering the spread that NFL odds are offering.
