Washington had a great chance to take control of the NFC East, but of course they lost at home to Dallas on Monday. Chicago also had a great chance to move up in the playoff race.

The Bears, who are also 5-7, are 3.5-point favorites at home and that is where the NFL odds have opened up this week. The Bears lost to a team with Blaine Gabbert at quarterback, although to be fair, Gabbert has been surprisingly good this season. The Redskins lost to Matt Cassel at quarterback in a game that neither they or the Cowboys seemed to want to win. If the Bears lose this game, they can kiss their playoff chances goodbye, while Washington is lucky to be in the NFC East, where they are leading Philadelphia and the New York Giants based on a tiebreaker. There isn't much difference between the Bears and the Redskins when you look at the numbers. Chicago is 19th in yards for and 24th in points scored; Washington is 25th in yards for and 21st in points scored. Defensively, the Bears are 12th in yards allowed and 18th in points allowed, while the Redskins are 21st in yards allowed and 17th in points allowed. This game will come down to who makes fewer mistakes.

DE Jason Hatcher (neck) and RB Chris Thompson (shoulder) are going for MRIs this week, and Hatcher is the more likely to play. That being said, don't count on either. DE Stephen Paea has a bad toe sprain and he probably won't play for the Redskins.

The Bears lost TE Martellus Bennett for the season to injured ribs, which is a tough loss. WR Marquess Wilson didn't practice on Wednesday because of his foot, but WR Eddie Royal was back with a bad knee.

Washington is 5-7 ATS this season, but just 1-4 ATS on the road. Chicago is 7-5 ATS, but just 2-4 ATS at home. Strangely, there is no total for this game yet. But the Bears have gone under seven times this season, and the same goes for the Redskins.

The Redskins are 8-2 SU (five wins in a row) and ATS in their last 10 meetings with the Bears, who are 3-7 SU and 1-7 ATS at home against Washington.
