Green Bay hosts Washington at Lambeau Field as 7.5-point favorites. Find out why we like the Aaron Rodgers-led team to cover in our Packers and Washington Week 7 picks.

Aaron Rodgers will look to exploit Washington’s defensive frailties when the Green Bay Packers and Washington Football Team lock horns at Lambeau Field on Sunday. No team is allowing more points per game than Washington this season, which does not bode well for a clash with an offense containing Rodgers, Aaron Jones, and Davante Adams.

Green Bay, 5-1 straight up and against the spread since getting crushed in Week 1, is a 7.5-point home favorite.

Here are my picks and predictions for the NFL Week 7 matchup between Washington vs. Packers on October 24 (odds via FanDuel).

Washington vs. Packers Odds

The sportsbooks cannot agree on a consensus line for this game. BetMGM makes Green Bay the 9.5-point favorite, whereas FanDuel has the Packers -7.5 at -110. If you like the Packers, you should head to FanDuel, but if you think Washington will exceed expectations, the odds of -110 available on Washington +9.5 at BetMGM look appealing.

Most sportsbooks have set the total points line at 49 or 49.5. As is often the case, reduced juice sportsbook SBK stands out by offering -112 on Over 48.5 and -103 on Under 48.5, so that is a great option if you anticipate a low-scoring encounter.

Washington vs. Packers Predictions

Packers -7.5 (-110)

Green Bay ended a tumultuous summer by suffering a shock 38-3 defeat to the New Orleans Saints in Week 1, but has since swept aside Detroit, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Chicago to surge to the top of the NFC North.

Rodgers looked seriously fired up when leading his team to victory at Soldier Field last weekend. “I still own you,” he roared at the jeering Bears fans after killing off the game with a TD scramble.

The reigning NFL MVP has been tormenting defenses once again this season, and he should have a great deal of joy against Washington.

The Washington defense gave up 499 yards in a 31-13 defeat to the Chiefs in Week 6, and it has now given up more points than any other team in the league this season. It has gone 1-5 ATS, and it should struggle in this matchup against a Rodgers-led offense in Week 7.

Under 49.5 (-110)

Just two out of six games featuring the Packers have gone Over the total points line so far this season.

The Over has landed in four Washington games, but its offense looked toothless as it was shut out in the second half against the Chiefs last weekend. Taylor Heinicke looks bereft of confidence and the offense has sputtered over the past couple of weeks.

It may struggle to unlock the Green Bay defense for large swathes of this game, so Under 49.5 points looks appealing.

Packers -4 Second-Half Spread (-105)

Washington looked capable of springing a famous upset when it opened up a 13-10 halftime lead over the Chiefs in Week 6. Patrick Mahomes carved it up in the second half, however, as Kansas City scored 21 points without reply.

The Washington offense wilted and the defense looked fatigued as the Chiefs ran riot, suggesting that the Packers could enjoy a similarly fruitful second half in Week 7 on Sunday.

Green Bay has only played twice at home so far this season. Rodgers' Packers scored 21 points and allowed none in the second half of their game against the Lions, and outscored the Steelers 10-7 after halftime in their other game at Lambeau.

The -4 spread looks tight, but it would not be surprising to see the Packers pick Washington apart as this game wears on.
