The Vikings and Bears present a nice cap to what was generally a sloppy Week 5 of NFL action. We split a pair of NFL Prop Picks on Sunday night and like a Vikings receiver in the MNF matchup.
Diggs, Minnesota's No. 1 receiver, has three very good things going for him in this matchup at the Bears, and they are going to combine for a big winning ticket for us on this game.
The first thing is pretty obvious; it’s the assumed return of Sam Bradford. The Vikings quarterback has been out since Week 1 with soreness in his surgically repaired knee. However, after practicing all last week it would be a big surprise if Bradford didn’t play.
Case Keenum was not bad in relief of Bradford, but his accuracy was a big decline. Diggs only caught 15 of 24 targets with Keenum under center, compared to Bradford, where he went 7-of-8 on targets with 93 yards and 2 touchdowns in Week 1. Bradford’s accuracy has always been his strength, and with him healthy once again, I expect the Vikings passing offense, and Diggs, to have improved stat lines in this one.
The second thing going for Diggs is the matchup. The Bears have been horrible against opposing wide receivers this season and in recent memory. That should continue against Diggs. Chicago has allowed a total of 610 yards to opposing wideouts this season, and a lot of those have been big plays.
Finally, Diggs has seen his total depress some for this matchup, and I don’t think Bovada sportsbook has factored in Bradford's or Diggs’ history against the Bears into this line enough. The line of 77.5 should probably be closer to 87.5.
In three career matchups, Diggs has caught 17-of-29 targets for 226 yards and 4 TDs against Chicago. Considering everything coming together tonight, I like the over in this one, and I think Diggs’ odds at a touchdown at +125 aren’t bad either.Free NFL Pick: Over 77.5 YardsBest Line Offered: Bovada
