The options are unlimited as we have a whole host of NFL Week 3 Preseason games on Friday as respective teams prepare for the regular season. See who we like in the league where they play-for-pay.

New England Patriots vs Carolina Panthers

Two Powerhouses
Although I'm referring to the NFL Regular Season, this ought to be a competitive game as these two teams always look to win whether it's preseason or the regular season. They're very competitive and are both contenders to raise the Lombardi Trophy at the end of the season.

Cam Newton will definitely see some action. He saw his playing time increase in week 2 in a 26-16 victory over the Titans in which Newton threw for 162 yards on 8 for 12 attempts with 1 TD. Look for Newton to make a major impact on this game although head coach, Ron Rivera, doesn't want to see Cam get injured and we'll also see a lot of Derek Anderson for the Panthers.

Secondary players such as Tedd Ginn Jr. and Devin Funchess will get a couple of targets tops. That said, Ginn Jr. is a threat in a game as he can take one to the house with his tremendous amount of speed. Tight end, Greg Olsen, will also be featured in the Panthers offense and his presence alone may provide the Patriots problems as he's sure-handed and can block.

No Fear In the Patriots
It's almost a bit of arrogance as head coach Bill Belichick sends out his starters such as Jimmy Garapolo, LeGarrate Blount, Brandon Bolden, and tight end Martellus Bennett in the preseason and despite not having an elite running back, these players will see a decent amount of action.

Last week, LaGarette Blount was very effective as he carried the ball 11 times for 69 yards and 1 TD. While Bill Belichick doesn't want to see Blount get injured, he'll basically do anything to win a football game and play his regulars will benefit the Patriots in this spot. Tight end, Martellus Bennett will be the lead tight end in this game and he's been watching a ton of film and looking to be that second tight end in the "two tight end offense" that worked so well for New England a few years ago. I look for Bennett to have a monster regular season and he'll play a major role in this game.

Looking To Impress...For Other Teams
Quarterback, Jimmy Garapolo, needs to see as many snaps as possible as his job is to play the preseason and start the regular season up until week 5. He's actually showcasing his abilities for possibly another team next season, therefore he'll play every play like this is a regular season game. Thus far, Jimmy Garapolo has led the Pats to a 2-0 record this preseason and is coming off of another strong start in which he was 16 of 21 for 181 yards and 1 TD. The guy doesn't get major press but is the real deal.

Look to see a lot of points scored in this game with these two high-powered offenses.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs New Orleans Saints

Steelers Aren't Preseason-Friendly
There's no other way to put it as Pittsburgh still looks for their first win of the preseason as starters such as Le'Veon Bell and Martavius Bryant are both suspended and Ben Rothlisberger and Antonio Brown can ill-afford to get injured. We'll see a lot of Landry Jones and after last week in which he threw 4 interceptions in a 17-0 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, look for Jones to bounce back . This was once a highly touted quarterback coming out of the University of Oklahoma a couple of years ago.

Wide receiver, Cobi Hamilton, will be looking to make an impression as he was targeted 7 times last week and led the Steelers with 4 catches for 44 yards. Expect for Hamilton to see a lot more action this week. Look for players such as Hamilton and running back, Fitzgerald Toussaint (8 carries, 26 yards) to make an impression on the coaching staff and that will keep this game competitive, but this isn't a very deep preseason squad at the key positions. Don't expect much from the Steelers in the form of covering the betting spread. This game is simply preparation for them.

McCown in Command
While the city of New Orleans, Louisiana still has their minds on the flood, the Saints have to play some football and this is a good spot to boost the morale of the team and for the people of the state of Louisiana. Last week, in a 16-9 loss to the Houston Texans, Drew Brees looked really ineffective as a quarterback, Luke McCown (14 of 19, 118 yards) was the dominant force behind center. Look for Brees to bring his 'A-Game' in this contest as he can't go into the regular season on a sour note and is playing a very weak and depleted Pittsburgh squad.

Also, look for Mark Ingram and C.J. Spiller to see more action this week. While McCown is a threat to also run the football, these players need to gear up for the regular season and the Pittsburgh defense won't present any problems. Ingram is also a double threat like McCown as he can run the football and catch out of the backfield. Wide receiver, Brandon Coleman, was targeted an amazing 10 times last week. That's a lot for a preseason game. Don't expect the same to happen this week. Look for the Saints to pounce on a vulnerable Pittsburgh squad.
