After an exciting week 1, we continue the same hype coming into NFL week 2. We all have learned a lot about the growths and downfalls of each team, so week 2 is going to be even more eventful. Read below for my prediction and NFL Pick for the Dallas Cowboys vs. LA Chargers.

Dallas Cowboys vs. LA Chargers

Sunday, September 19, 2021 - 04:25 PM EDT at SoFi Stadium

Los Angeles

In week 1, the Chargers won 20-16 on the road against Washington. Justin Herbert completed 31 out of 47 passes for 337 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception.

LA played a great game offensively against a very strong Washington defense. New head coach Brandon Staley did a great job winning his first game under his new team.

In terms of players to keep an eye out for, Joey Bosa stood out to me the most on the defensive end. He is typically one of the best pass-rushers out there.

Another key player would be Austin Ekeler - he saw 15 carries on 46 snaps.

The Chargers have an overall “giant” team. Their players are strong and were able to assist Herbert when needed. Even on third downs, Herbert excelled and completed plays.

Dallas

The Cowboys played a great game against the Buccaneers in week 1 despite them losing 29-31. They were able to score in every quarter and maintain a close score against the Super Bowl LV champs.

Their defense applied the pressure and picked 2 interceptions off Tom Brady.

Dak Prescott looked great in terms of his passing after returning from his horrible ankle injury. His O line gave him time inside the pocket and was able to play a close game against a Bucs Super Bowl defense.

Key players I will look out for are CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper; combined they caught 20 catches on 30 targets for 243 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Prediction

The public is all over the Chargers and it makes complete sense why. The Chargers opened up as the favorite at -3, and the current spread is sitting between 3 to 3.5 points at your top sportsbooks.

The Chargers have a dangerous offense with a super star QB Justin Herbert. They played a great game against Washington in week 1, but we should also keep in mind, Washington lost their QB1 Ryan Fitzpatrick early in week 1.

Would the game have been any different? Maybe it could have been an even tiger game, but Justin Herbert is a key weapon along with Austin Ekeler.

This matchup will be a tough Chargers offense against a growing Cowboys defense that held a close game against the Super Bowl LV champs.

This should be a tougher level of competition for the Chargers since I truly believe Dallas’ offense is far superior than Washington’s. There will be more points up on the board and I would not be surprised if the over hit.

Throughout the week, the spread has been fluctuating between 2.5 to 3.5 points. If the spread goes back down to 2.5, then I would lay the points with the Chargers. However, with the 3.5 points, I will take the Cowboys. Expect a close and exciting game in this matchup.
