The NFL preseason is now in full swing as we look at the top preseason games to bet on heading into Week 1.

The 2022 NFL offseason was simply one large game of musical chairs. Several star players switched teams including Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill, and Khalil Mack. There won’t be much time for new players to assimilate into unfamiliar team systems before the regular season starts, so we may see more starters play preseason games than usual.

The Week 1 NFL slate features all 32 teams, meaning the betting possibilities are endless. It can be hard to navigate such a large slate with so many teams in action, but there is always some sneaky betting value to be found.

Here are the top NFL preseason games we’ll be looking to bet on in Week 1 (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook).

Top NFL Preseason Games to Bet in Week 1

New England Patriots (-1, -110) vs. New York Giants

It might be a long season for rookie head coach Brian Daboll, who takes over a cautiously optimistic New York Giants team with a lot of question marks. The depth of the organization has steadily improved, but there’s still a way to go.

The New England Patriots aren’t who they were during the Tom Brady era, but the squad still boasts decent depth at most positions. There’s always a chance to win under legendary head coach Bill Belichick as well, and he has actually only lost two games over the last three preseason.

With such a low spread and a roster talent/coaching disparity this wide, wagering on the Pats is the way to go.

Baltimore Ravens (-4.5, -110) vs. Tennessee Titans

Every team who has faced the Baltimore Ravens in the preseason since 2016 has suffered the same fate — a loss. Head coach John Harbaugh has an incredible 20-0 preseason record during that time, and it’s tough to imagine that ending any time soon.

The Tennessee Titans pride themselves on their run defense, which finished second in the league in yards against per game last season. This would seem like good news against a run-heavy Ravens offense, but the chances of Tennessee running out a full complement of defensive starters is also very unlikely.

Given Baltimore’s emphasis on the preseason and the Titans absences, they should have no problem winning this game and covering the spread in the process.

Cincinnati Bengals (-1.5, -110) vs. Arizona Cardinals

It’s been an off-season of storylines for the Arizona Cardinals. It began with star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who was suspended for the first six weeks of the season and last weekend starting quarterback Kyler Murray contracted COVID-19. On Aug. 3 newly acquired WR Marquise Brown was arrested for criminal speeding.

The Cincinnati Bengals are in a similar boat roster-wise, with starting QB Joe Burrow and talented wideout Tee Higgins listed as ‘questionable’. Regardless, the Bengals have better depth at most positions and only need to win by a field goal or safety to cover the spread. They should have no problem beating Kliff Kingsbury’s Cardinals.
