If you have not read this article, it might be a good time to do so. If you are regular visitor to this weekly piece, thank you, and by now I know you have been cashing regularly, just like myself.
For the third time in seven weeks, we hit every combination of 4, 3 and 2-teamer six-point NFL teasers. Our overall record for NFL picks in that span is 24-4 and 31-9 since starting this in Week 3. As stated previously, knowing what teams to pick is important, but getting the right numbers in the right situations is also very meaningful if you want to beat the NFL odds.
Here are my four choices for Week 13 of the season.
New England From -9 to -3 at Buffalo
For Buffalo, this is a huge game in search of its first playoff berth in 18 years. With this we can expect the Bills to have a strong effort, if not necessarily the result they desire. The oddsmakers' spread suggests New England should win this contest, and on this teaser we slide past key numbers like 6 and 7 and go all the way to 3. Normally, I might suggest to see if the Patriots might fall to -8.5 on the standard spread, but that is risky if it goes the other way for a teaser (up to -3.5). Nonetheless, we still should have great deal of confidence with the Pats 30-2 against a teaser line after allowing 17 points or less in four straight games.Miami From +1.5 to +8.5 vs. Denver
In theory, you could take this teaser either way in this crummy AFC contest. I will choose Miami as the underdog, since we can pass thru a trio of key numbers (3, 6 and 7). Besides this being important, the matchup matters. Sure, Denver at +5.5 on the teaser line does look good with the Dolphins on a five-game losing streak (0-3-2 ATS). However, being able to back the Fins at over a touchdown against a road team that is on a 0-7 SU and ATS bender is even better and knowing they are 0-5 SU and ATS outside of Colorado.Tennessee From -6.5 to -0.5 vs. Houston
Make no mistake, I am not part of the Marcus Mariota fan club. When you listen to the Titans' games, the game announcers have all these glowing remarks about him, yet the actual results never meet what is discussed. That said, Houston quarterback Tom Savage is even less desirable with all the turnovers he has on a weekly basis, and with this teaser are just asking the Titans to win the game at home against the Texans -- and they are 12-3 in their building vs. Houston against the teaser line.Pittsburgh From -5.5 to +0.5 at Cincinnati
On Monday night, this could be Cincinnati's last chance to be a playoff contender, unless its would finish the season 4-0, which seems like a stretch for a team that is currently 5-6. For this teaser, we are just asking the second-best squad in the AFC to win a game in the Queen City, something they are very familiar with. How familiar? the Steelers are 22-5 SU at Cincinnati and clearly play with a great deal of confidence there, especially when they have the better team, and they are 23-3-1 on the six-point teaser.
