They’re a young team on the rise – and they’re already Super Bowl material. What do the Los Angeles Rams need to do in 2019 to keep this train rolling?

Jason’s 2018-19 NFL picks record: 11-14 ATS, 0-2 ML (minus-2.90 units), 7-9 Totals

The Los Angeles Rams are probably going to be title contenders for years to come. Bovada already has them as +700 co-favorites (along with the New England Patriots, naturally) on the NFL odds board for Super Bowl LIV. Here’s our Top 5 list of questions for the Rams to consider before the 2019 campaign.

1. Can We Do Something About This Run Defense?

We put the Rams in our NFL picks for Super Bowl LIII, but we also had visions of Patriots RB Sony Michel tearing a hole through their front seven. They overpaid Ndamukong Suh to come in and play nose tackle; in a salary-cap league, Suh needs to be turned over pronto and replaced by someone such as Notre Dame’s Jerry Tillery – if he can stay on the straight and narrow.

2. More Targets For Goff?

If the Rams don’t like the cut of Tillery’s jib, they could go with someone on the offensive side with their first-round pick – and that someone could be Alabama TE Irv Smith Jr. However, Smith might not be available for the Rams because they will be picking way, way back in the first round -- but I doubt they’ll mind too much because it's the price of success.

3. Is C.J. Anderson For Real?

Anderson has been a late-season savior for the Rams while RB Todd Gurley (knee) tries to get back to full health. He’s also shown L.A. the value of having a “Thunder and Lightning” duo in the backfield. Anderson is a free agent this offseason, and about to turn 28 – maybe he’ll consider taking a discount on a one-year offer to stay with the Rams.

4. Should We Bother Trading Up In Draft?

The Rams traded this year’s second-round pick to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Marcus Peters deal, and their third-rounder to the Jacksonville Jaguars for Dante Fowler Jr. They still have their top four picks for 2020, though. Maybe L.A. should be trading down this year instead of up. They’ll certainly be a premium free-agent destination.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

With the focus on Atlanta, the @RamsNFL share a view of the progress on their new #stadium in Inglewood at Hollywood Park pic.twitter.com/KznGCOz7hp
— Tim Newcomb (@tdnewcomb) January 31, 2019
\n\n"}[/]

5. How Do We Put Butts in Seats?

Getting fans to come out to the Coliseum is another question. Yes, this season's success will help, but there wasn’t much buzz in La La Land when the Rams came back home (to Los Angeles, that is. Sorry, Cleveland). The new stadium at Hollywood Park won’t be ready until 2020; the Kroenkes may or may not have bitten off more than they can chew with this particular project, but at least it’s being done mostly with private money – and they’ll have the L.A. Chargers as tenants. In the meantime, the locals will continue to care more about the USC Trojans than the Rams.
