Swinger is back with his NFL picks for Week 4 and looking to get back on track. Let’s take a look at what the NFL odds makers are dealing with and cash those tickets!

The official Swinger’s Picks’ record is a subpar 4-5 but when factoring in my stand-alone NFL write-ups we are at a slightly better, though thoroughly mediocre, 8-8 on the season. As the Thursday Night Football game looms between the Dolphins vs. Cincinnati 9/29/2016, we will look ahead and scour the NFL betting odds for this upcoming weekend’s slate.

As many of you recall, I was quite candid about my confusion concerning last week’s games. And when I’m confused, the square in me comes out front and center, which led me to pick two dreadful overs and one over-valued favorite (Miami Dolphins) for a dismal 0-3 week. But it’s all shiny and new here in my NFL picks Week 4 selections and since we can’t do worse than we did last week, we’re looking to reverse course and cash those tickets. Especially for my buddy and longtime reader Vic from Boston who has been through the rollercoaster that is the NFL season. Let’s get back to it and bury our bookmakers.

Colts (1-2 SU, 1-2 ATS) vs. Jaguars (0-3 SU, 0-2-1 ATS) Prediction (Total)

This one will be played as you’re enjoying Bloody Mary’s accompanied by Sunday brunch. Yes, the NFL continues its expansion across the pond as the Colts and Jags will travel to England in front of what is certain to be a packed house at Wembley Stadium. The game will kick off at 9:30 Eastern and here we have two defenses that are, quite frankly, quite offensive!

The Jaguars are allowing 28 points per game (25th) while the porous Colts surrender an average of 31.7 PPG (31st). Indianapolis has the luxury of a healthy Andrew Luck and an offense that is putting up an average of 27 points per game (tied for 5th) while the Jags are plodding along with only 18 PPG. The Jags offense, or lack thereof, concerns me but the Colts are so woeful on defense it won’t matter. In addition, games played at Wembley since 2012 have averaged over 53 points per game. Go high young man!

Browns (0-3 SU, 1-2 ATS) vs. Redskins (1-2 SU, 1-2 ATS) Prediction

I am shocked to actually be typing this but…the Browns are not as bad as everyone thinks. There, I said it! And if you review their games they could be 2-1 at this stage as opposed to 0-3. The Redskins will suffer a letdown here after a huge divisional win over the Giants last week and a trip to undefeated Baltimore looming next week. The ‘Skins have injuries to their secondary and their offensive line which should help the cause as the Brownies are getting, what I feel, is a generous head start. Let’s go with the underdogs in this one.

Free NFL Pick: Browns +9 (-130)

Giants (2-1 SU, 1-2 ATS) vs. Vikings (3-0 SU, 3-0 ATS)

The Vikings won’t remain undefeated forever but they will after this week. They have the NY Giants coming to town and that will be a welcome sight to a Minnesota squad that has already surpassed expectations without the services of starting QB Teddy Bridgewater. The Vikings have already knocked off two NFL powerhouses in Green Bay and last week, Carolina. This new version of the Purple People Eaters will make life miserable for Eli Manning and will stop the Giants’ rushing attack with ease. Let’s look for Minny’s Sam Bradford to have a much easier time of it than he did in the first half of last week’s game against a stout Panthers’ defense.

Free NFL Pick: Vikings -5

 The Woodman’s Corner (1-2 ATS)

The Woodman crashed and burned with the Bears last week but is hoping to get back on track with another underdog for your betting consideration. He says bet the farm on the Chiefs over the Steelers on Sunday night!

Free NFL Pick: Chiefs +5
Best Line Offered: at Bovada
Swinger’s Overall 2016 NFL Record: 8-8 (after Week 3)
