Jacksonville isn’t favored often by NFL oddsmakers, which provides betting value in backing Tennessee to complete the regular-season series sweep Thursday night.

A Crazy Season
Tennessee has dropped eight in a row by an average of 13.8 points, which is important to consider when making your Week 16 NFL betting picks, as it prepares to play with a different starting quarterback for a third consecutive contest.

Charlie Whitehurst is familiar with first-year head coach Ken Whisenhunt’s system, as they spent the 2013 campaign together with the San Diego Chargers, while he also threw for a career-high 233 yards in securing a 16-14 victory over the Jaguars as four-point home favorites in the first meeting.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the franchise is 3-2 SU and 5-0 ATS on the road with a betting total between 38.5 and 42 points.

Rookie Mistakes
Jacksonville wasn’t expecting to have its first-round selection from the 2014 NFL Draft on the field much this season, but former UCF Knights star Blake Bortles has thrown 10 touchdowns and 17 interceptions to this point.

The Jaguars offensive line must step up and protect their signal-caller that suffered a sprained right foot last week, which can’t be ignored when looking over the NFL odds, as he’s been sacked a league-high 41 times.

It’s important to point out that the team is 4-17 SU and 5-15-1 ATS in its last 21 home games, with the UNDER cashing in 14 of those 21 opportunities.

Ground Game
Whitehurst will need to play a solid game under center if the Titans plan on covering this number at EverBank Field, as they’ve averaged a league-low 64.8 rushing yards over their last 10 affairs.

Tennessee is also having a tough time defensively in stopping opponents on the ground, as it enters surrendering an NFL-worst 139.6 yards in that category, but it did manage to limit tonight’s opponent to just 82 in the first meeting on Oct. 12.

Downward Trends
Sports bettors need to think twice before backing the Jaguars as any type of favorite, as they’ve been out-gained in their last six contests, while they’ve also gone 2-5 SUATS in their last seven Thursday affairs.

Jacksonville has also failed to cover the number in its last six games playing with double revenge, which doesn’t bode well with a banged up quarterback on short rest.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Titans as one of their top primetime NFL picks, as the underdog is 4-1-1 in the last six meetings in this rivalry.
