Thursday’s have been very good to this NFL handicapper so far this season, and tonight hopefully will be no different. Here are his favorite player props for Giants vs. Redskins.
Will Rashad Jennings Score a Touchdown?
Last week Rashad Jennings had one of the better games of his career. He rushed 34 times for 176 yards and a touchdown, and he should continue to get some steady work this week against the Redskins. Even though the Skins’ defense is better than a lot of people projected, Jennings should still see the bulk of the production. However scoring a touchdown may be out of the cards this week. After carrying the ball 34 times, and now having to play on short rest, the Giants are going to have to get Jennings some help tonight. I doubt he gets much goal line work, and that could really limit his TD value. On top of that, even though he has scored in two of the last three games, the value from Bovada is on the 'no' tonight at -105. Look for rookie, Andre Williams to get some more work tonight, limiting Jennings’ touchdown value.
Free NFL Pick: ‘No’ (-105)
Kirk Cousins O/U 279 ½ Passing Yards
Kirk Cousins may be stealing Robert Griffin III’s job right out from under him, especially if he continues to play well. Cousins had a banner day last week against the Eagles in a loss, and although he threw for am amazing 427 yards last week, his over/under is at 279 ½ tonight. The Giants have a better secondary than the Eagles do, even though they haven’t really showed it so far through three games. However last week the Giants grabbed three interceptions from Ryan Fitzpatrick and limited him to 289 passing yards even though the Texans were playing from behind most of the game. On this short week the defense will be a little tired, but I see New York not allowing Cousins to throw all over the middle of the field like the Texans did. Although it will likely be close, I am taking the 'under' on Cousins’ passing yards total tonight as part of Thursday night props.
Free NFL Pick: 'Under' 279 ½
Total First Half Points – New York Giants – O/U 10 ½
The Giants’ offense finally woke up this past week, and even though they are set to face another undervalued defense this week in Washington, the short week should guarantee some scoring in this game. At only 10 ½ points from Bovada, the Giants should easily score 11 or more on the Redskins’ tired defense to start the game and cash the over on this prop. So far this season, the Redskins haven’t played too many prolific offenses, but last week they gave up 20 first half points to the Eagles, and I could see the Giants having similar success this week. New York scored 17 straight points last week against the Texans, and they have a better defense than the Redskins.
Free NFL Pick: Giants over 10 ½ 1H points
