The most storied rivalry takes place again with Chicago at Green Bay. For those betting football, the big number presents several challenges in making proper determination for a final NFL pick.

Most sportsbooks like A+ rated Bookmaker, a favorite among bettors, sent out the Packers at -9 over the Bears for NFL betting odds, but given how the continuity of their offense and Aaron Rodgers obviously off his game, can you trust the Pack? However, Hoyer moves the ball for Chicago but is not leading them into the end zone, giving opponents a chance like in recent defeats to Indianapolis and Jacksonville in the final quarter.

Chicago Covers If........

Quarterback Brian Hoyer does what he does best, throw a short pass and help his team win time of possession. Hoyer is haphazard deep thrower, but he can move the chains throwing to different Chicago receivers. What Bears coaches have to do is better use Alshon Jeffries in the red zone. Granted, the other teams know this, but giving him a chance to win 50-50 balls is better than not throwing to him at all.

With Green Bay's backfield banged up, Chicago has to stuff the run and on third and long bring five on the pass rush, to get Aaron Rodgers off his marks. Rodgers has not been as accurate as in past years and throws more balls up from grabs. He's also resorted to earlier in his career when he hangs on the pigskin too long and will cough it up in tight spaces.

Green Bay Covers If.........

The presumption is the Packers might have limitations in the running game due to injuries. This places more pressure on Rodgers to perform. If the Packers use the passing game as an extension of the run, they can pick apart the Chicago defense. Using underneath routes where the receivers have to face Rodgers can yield five to six yards a completion. Also, rolling Rodgers out more makes Chicago have to decide how to play him and Bears defenders have been beatable in space. All this can open up deep shots down the field to Jordy Nelson or Devonte Adams (if available).

Defensively, Green Bay has to what they have been doing all season except against Dallas, stuff the run. With Chicago a mediocre deep passing team, by forcing Hoyer into third and longs, the Packers can cut loose the pass rush and wait to see if Hoyer makes mistakes.

Your Thursday Night Football Winner Is?

While taking the Bears comes with a number of risks, particularly with an offense that stalls inside the opposing team's 30-yard line, taking Green at -9 is seemingly even more treacherous.

On short week it seems challenging Aaron Rodgers is magically going to return to All-Pro form, the wide receivers will run crisper routes to work harder to get open and gimpy Eddie Lacy will do much without more time off and Green Bay forced to using receivers as running backs. Also, the inexperienced Pack's cornerbacks are going to turn into Josh Norman in four days. Maybe playing Chicago will help Green Bay, but I'd rather take 9-points for NFL week 7 picks than give it.
