One of the most interesting head-to-head division battles on Sunday’s NFL betting board is a NFC West showdown between the 2-2 Seahawks and the surprising 3-1 Rams. Game time from L.A. Memorial Coliseum is set for 4:05 p.m. (ET) on CBS.

Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Rams (-1, 47)

The Seahawks continue to be one of the tougher teams to figure out this season. Following a 33-27 loss to Tennessee as 2-point underdogs on the road in Week 3, they hammered Indianapolis 46-18 last Sunday as 12.5-point favorites at home. The total went well over the closing line in both games after staying under in a road loss to Green Bay and a victory at home against San Francisco. Seattle is 1-3 this season against the spread.

While the Seahawks defense carried the load in the first two games with the offense scoring a combined 21 points, things have certainly turned around in a hurry over their past two outings. Russell Wilson connected on 21 of his 26 passing attempts against the Colts for 295 yards and two touchdowns, and Seattle’s ground game added 194 more yards on 33 carries. In the loss to the Titans, Wilson went off for 373 yards through the air and four scoring strikes, with Doug Baldwin coming down with 10 receptions for 105 yards and a score.

The Rams remain one of the biggest surprises through the first quarter of the new season. They improved to 3-1 SU and 2-2 ATS with Sunday’s thrilling 35-30 upset over Dallas as 5-point road underdogs. The total went over the closing 50.5-point line in that game and it has gone over or ended as a push in their first four games. Los Angeles has scored 35 points or more in three of those contests.

Quarterback Jared Goff did not make all that big of an impression in his rookie year, but he has already opened some eyes with his play in the first four starts of his sophomore campaign. He has thrown for 1,072 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 78 of his first 117 attempts. Todd Gurley has quickly resurrected his career as the team’s leading rusher (362 yards) and receiver (234 yards) while finding the end zone seven times. The Rams are ranked first in the league in scoring and fifth in total yards.

Game Betting Trends
  • The Seahawks have failed to cover in their last six road games and they are just 1-6 ATS in their last seven games following a SU win.
  • The Rams have gone just 1-7-1 ATS in their last nine home games and they are 0-4 ATS in their last four division games. The total has gone OVER in their last five games at home.
  • The home team in this NFC West tilt has covered in seven of the last eight meetings and the total has stayed UNDER in 10 of the last 14 games between these two division rivals.
 Seahawks-Rams Verdict

Even when Seattle was at the top of its game in recent years, it always had difficulty getting past the Rams. The gap between the two teams has closed considerable this season, opening the door to another victory in this division series for Los Angeles both SU and ATS.
