Check out these NFL Wild Card predictions, including picks in the Raiders-Texans, Giants-Packers, and Lions-Seahawks matchups.

Oakland Raiders vs Houston Texans

Bettors should be concerned with the fact a rookie quarterback will be making his first career start in an NFL playoff game, also a league first in the Super Bowl era. Connor Cook admitted to not knowing the playbook in full after relieving Matt McGloin under center in the team’s 24-6 regular-season finale loss at Denver. It’s doubtful he’ll master the offense in a week entering this matchup. To pour salt in the wound, starting left tackle Donald Penn is “very questionable” to play with a knee injury.

The Texans have won 10 games in a row straight up at home when favored in the betting market. The offense is suspect, so it is doubtful they run away with the game. Their 17.4 points per contest ranked the fewest of any winning team in the league. Still, the unit should do enough against a reeling Oakland franchise. The Raiders offense mustered a measly 221 total yards against the Broncos last time out. Houston’s D is not that far off in strength. Oakland may struggle to get double digits in this one.

Detroit Lions vs Seattle Seahawks

The Lions defense rolled over the last two games, allowing 73 points total to the Cowboys and Packers. It was two of only three offenses averaging 21 points or more the defense faced in the second half of the season.

Seattle puts up 22.1 points per contest and averages 30.7 points per game at home since a flat performance in the season opener against the Dolphins (12-10). Expect a big day for Russell Wilson and crew.

N.Y. Giants vs Green Bay Packers

The Giants offense stinks away from MetLife Stadium. It scored more than 20 points once all year, 27 against the lowly Browns in Week 12. The Packers defense leaves a lot to be desired, but the fact remains New York put up more than its projected team total away from home once in 2016.

New York defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo has crafted another great unit capable of slowing down the red-hot Packers offense. The Giants yielded 24 points or less in every game but one this season. Green Bay looks primed to hit this number, though, and maybe more. Aaron Rodgers and company have scored at least three offensive touchdowns in every game since Week 7, and against some stout defenses (Seahawks, Lions, Texans, etc.) to boot.

Don't wait until the last minute to lay the points. This line steamed all the way down to -3 midweek following a -6.5 opener in favor of the Pack. The number has been steadily rising since.
