The Redskins are still just one game out of first in a wild NFC East, and these are the types of games that they need to win to stay in the hunt. This game is a rock and a hard place for NFL bettors.

Opening Odds & Line Movement

Open: -3.5 -105 at Pinnacle
The Redskins are favored at -3.5 at home, which is where the NFL odds opened and has stayed. It is tempting to have the Redskins as a bigger favorite at home, but Kirk Cousins has eight interceptions on the season, which has led to 35 points for the opposition. Also, the Buccaneers are coming off the bye, which means they could have added more to the playbook for rookie QB Jameis Winston, who is 30th in QBR, one spot ahead of Cousins.

The bye week came at the right time for the Buccaneers, who had a number of players return to practice this week. Their big concerns are G Logan Mankins, who is nursing a groin injury, and TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins has a sore shoulder. Neither practiced on Tuesday, but keep an eye on them throughout the week as kickoff approaches.

For Washington, WR DeSean Jackson is a little closer to returning from a hamstring injury, but he isn't a lock for Sunday. T Trent Williams is still battling a concussion, while CBs Chris Culliver (knee) and DeAngelo Hall (toe) probably won't play, either, which is good news for Winston, although no one knows if he can take advantage of it.

Tampa Bay is 2-8 SU in their last 10 games, but 5-5 SU and they've covered the spread in six of their last nine on the road. The Redskins are 3-7 in their last 10 and 4-6 ATS, and they've covered in just three of their last 10 at home.

The Redskins are 4-6 SU and 4-5-1 ATS in their last 10 meetings with the Buccaneers since 2003, while going 5-4 SU and 4-5 ATS in their last nine games at home with Tampa Bay.
