Swinger continues to pick up units down the homestretch with his NFL picks but how does he handicap the final week of the regular season?  Let's find out!

Swinger's Record (27-21-1, +4.2 units) *Each wager is graded from 1 to 5 units*

I glance at my record and think how much better we could have been had I locked on earlier in the season rather than heat up down the stretch.  But, we still have this week to make some coin and I'm taking this column right into the playoffs so don't despair, we have plenty of more money making opportunities left.

Last week we went 2-1 with winners on underdogs Buffalo and Jacksonville for three units apiece but then we fell with the Sybil of the NFL this season, the Detroit Lions.  Yes, the Lions not only failed to cover but failed to win the freakin game against the New York Bleepin' Giants.  So much for all those three team teasers that you hooked up with the Lions at a pick.  That was a four unit money burner but we won 1.6 units on the week by going 2-1.  Let's see if we can add to our bankroll with our NFL picks in the final week of the regular season.

Bills vs. Patriots

The Patriots positively crushed me three weeks ago when they barely slipped by the Cleveland Browns as 9 ½ point home chalk.  But I'm going to reload on Bill's boys once again as I believe they have found their mojo after giving the Ravens a beating in their own backyard last week.

Belichick is a superb 10-2 ATS in Week 17 games.  The playoffs are here and New England is already ready to roll.  They will roll again in Week 17 as the Pats will run the ball until the fearsome Buffalo pass rush has to lay back.  Once that happens, Tom Terrific will torch their secondary and the Patriots will walk away in a laugher.

NFL Pick: New England -7 (-120 buying a ½ point) for 4 units at Bet365.com

Total - 49'ers vs. Cardinals

It's going to be fun to watch the squares throw money at San Francisco because they can finally get Colin Kaepernick and his band of merry Niners at a pick'em in NFL odds. It looks so tasty because we know Frisco is arguably a great team and we just can't buy into the fact that Arizona is any more than a good plucky bunch with a very nice defense.

But don't be too hasty boys and girls. The Cardinals have a ferocious defense and Kaepernick had plenty of trouble in the first half against the lowly Falcons last week. This will be a low scoring affair assuming Carson Palmer doesn't toss four picks in his own zone. Let's watch this game played between the 30-yard lines and collect the cash when the game ends regardless of which side covers.

Rams vs. Seahawks

I realize I am a guy who discounts emotion in sports. It's highly overrated particularly by fans who are by and large more passionate about winning than the players they root for. I see novice gamblers get burned time and time again by betting on a revenge factor or some other agenda that many of the players are unaware of or could care less about.

That being said, the Seahawks cannot feel terribly good about themselves after their stunning loss to the Cardinals last week. Factor in too that Jake Long will not be protecting Rams quarterback Kellen Clemens against a tenacious Seattle pass rush. Moreover, Seattle will have Pro Bowl tackle Russell Okung back at left tackle which was not the case in their previous meeting when the Seahawks won by only five in St. Louis.

Seattle had a 14-game home win streak broken and it's time to start a new one. Russell Wilson is 5-2 ATS in NFL odds after a loss. It all adds up to a big Seahawks victory.

NFL Pick: Seattle -11 ½ for 4 units at bet365.com

The Woodman's Corner (10-6, +3.4 units) - Guest Handicapper

If you wonder why I keep this guy around it's because he's pretty farkin' sharp. That and he threatens me with doggie slobber from two of the prettiest Newfies you've ever laid eyes on. Last week the Woodman went with yet another dog that not only clicked but shocked the world when the Cardinals went into Seattle as 10 point underdogs and won the game outright.

This week the Woodman advises all the Woodheads to line up behind and bet the farm on the Tampa Bay Bucs +12 ½ at WilliamHill.com.
