But after combing through this week's NFL odds can he find another gem in his NFL picks?
Swinger's Record (16-17, -13.6 units) *Each wager is graded from 1 to 5 units*
That's tout copy that you read in the subheading above boys. Yup, while it's true that I did love the Seahawks in that spot last week and advised a five unit max play which cashed, what it failed to mention is that I totally sucked last week. Little play on words there kids but the fact of the matter is I had two other plays in addition to that little honey I gave out on Seattle that just happened to be totals.
The first was a four unit money burner on Under 43 ½ in the Atlanta/Tampa Bay game. But please, will you give me a bleepin' break here?! The Bucs go off and score 41 points against the Falcons - hell, forget about the Falcons, for them to score 41 on anyone is absurd. They are ranked 30th in scoring in the whole f**k'in league!!
Okay, I've taken my Vicodin, I'm feeling better. The other total that burned us was a play on Over 52 ½ in the Redskins/Eagles tilt for two units which was a bit easier to swallow yet still went down like vinegar on a hot summer's day. So when the dust settled we actually lost 1.6 units for the week. Wonderful. Back to the drawing board and I'll be staying away from those damn totals....or will I?
The Chiefs had their Super Bowl last week and lost at Mile High. It was their first loss of the season and they failed to cover the number even as 7 ½ point pups in NFL odds. The thing is that the Chiefs have averaged 20 points exactly over the course of their last four games and that's due to an offensive scheme that relies heavily on the run and uses Alex Smith to toss flares rather than bombs.
The long and short is that the Bolts are not as bad as their record suggests. Now let's not go overboard and mistake them for a good team but they will chew up yardage on the ground against a very pedestrian KC run defense. The Chargers have a horrific defense but that's not such a huge disadvantage here because the Chiefs will be flat after last week and looking ahead to next week when they prepare for their rematch against the Broncos. Grab the points here boys and girls.

The Rams enjoyed the week off while the Bears were eking out an overtime victory over the Ravens at home. This is going to be a well rested Rams squad that has finally developed their not-so-secret weapon, eighth overall pick in the draft Tavon Austin. Austin used his spellbinding speed to return a kick 98 yards for a TD and then hauled in two long touchdown strikes to lead the Rams to a 38-8 thrashing of the Indianapolis Colts.
Kellen Clemens will be chucking again for the ailing Sam Bradford while Josh McCown will be pulling the trigger for the Bears. Both quarterbacks acquitted themselves quite well last time out of the box but it's the Rams defense that tilts the balance of power in this one. St. Louis will get to McCown and Clemens will be well rested and eager to get back to playing catch with his newest best buddy Tavon Austin.

I am finally appreciating the Cardinals and the magic that first year head coach Bruce Arians has cast since taking over in the desert. Keep in mind that the Colts offensive line is not very good while the Cardinals defensive pass rush is very, very good. Luck will be searching for a target but he won't find many options as third-year corner Patrick Peterson is the new big deal and should mitigate any threat T.Y Hilton will pose as the Colts primary receiver in the absence of number one receiver Reggie Wayne.
The Woodman's Corner (6-5, +0.5 units) - Guest Handicapper
Senor Woodman is averse to laying the lumber (kind of ironic if you think about it) and he never met a head start he didn't like. Yet his strategy appears to pay off year in and year out so it's hard to take shots at this handicapping titan. Once again, he's betting that farm of his and advising a play on the boys from the Lone Star State. He says play the Cowboys +2 ½ at Bet365.com.
