Swinger went 1-1 in his NFL picks last week but is looking to bury his bookmaker with his two top selections in Week 2. Let’s take a look at the matchups and get to cashing those tickets!

Swinger’s 2017 NFL Record (1-1, -0.1 Units)

Week 1 proved to be a ball of confusion but then again, most opening weeks are and last week proved no different. We clicked with the Eagles on the road against the Redskins as they rolled to a 30-17 win but we lined up behind all the squares and backed the Steelers as 8 ½ point road chalk in Cleveland. The Steelers hung on for the 21-18 victory but failed to cash as the chalky road favorite. Let’s learn from our 1-1 week and roll on to Week 2 in the NFL.

Titans at a Pick (-121) at Jaguars

The Jags are trying to brand themselves as this year’s Cinderella story after just one week based on their 29-7 trouncing of the Houston Texans. They have even taken to Twitter labeling themselves #Sacksonville after their defense’s 10 sacks on a porous Houston Texans offensive front. But their jobs won’t be nearly as easy against a solid Titans’ offensive line and Tennessee QB Marcus Mariota will find the going easier against a depleted and diminished Jacksonville secondary. Jacksonville’s top target Allen Robinson is out with a torn ACL and the only thing that will move the chains is their ground attack led by rookie Leonard Fournette. But while the Jags are churning and burning the clock the Titans will be striking through the air. The road team wins this one by a touchdown or more. Back Tennessee in your NFL picks this week.

Green Bay (+3) at Falcons

The Packers dispatched the Seahawks 17-9 and will be facing a far less ferocious Atlanta defense this week. The oddsmakers are setting this line in keeping with the public’s perception that Atlanta will be a heavyweight contender again this season but I believe that Super Bowl loss will resonate this year and the Falcons will be costing their backers beaucoup dough.

Aaron Rodgers will have more time to throw against this Falcons’ defense than he did last week and the results will have that scoreboard putting up plenty of crooked numbers. Atlanta has no running game to speak of as their offensive line made no room for Devonta Freeman last week who tallied all of 37 yards on the ground. Grab the points and back the Pack!

The Woodman’s Corner (0-1, -1.10 Units)

I chided the Woodman last week for backing the Indianapolis Colts and “future Hall-of-Famer” Scott Tolzien as 3 ½ point road underdogs to the LA Rams but notice I was not so confident that I faded the Colts and backed the Rams in my own NFL picks. That game was a pass for me but this week I am much more confident in his selection that the Buffalo Bills +7 ½ on the road against the Carolina Panthers will get the job done. Most offshore sportsbooks have the Bills +7 but that’s why it is imperative to have multiple outs so you can shop the NFL odds and get the best bang for your betting buck.
