The NFL season is past the halfway point and a sweep of our top three picks is in the offing. Let’s take a look at the NFL odds in Week 11 and cash those tickets!

There’s an old saying that goes, “If you torture the numbers long enough, they’ll confess to almost anything.” Unfortunately, in my case, no amount of massaging or torturing the numbers will yield anything close to a positive result. We went 1-2 ATS last week with the only ray of sunshine being that our rare five-unit maximum wager cashed as the Chargers snatched defeat from the jaws of victory yet were able to cover the number as four-point road dogs in Jacksonville. Unfortunately, our two-unit play on Washington and our three-unit play on Buffalo flamed giving us a net result of -0.5 units for the day. Let’s peruse the NFL odds for Week 10 and get back in the saddle.

Bucs (+1) vs. Dolphins

The Dolphins’ already atrocious secondary should be in for a tough time this week against the tandem of Mike Evans, back from suspension, and DeSean Jackson. They are ill-equipped to handle even marginal receivers let alone a duo of this stature. Yes, Ryan Fitzpatrick will be under center for the ailing Jameis Winston but was Winston really a threat this season? At least Fitzpatrick has been here before and is not an untested rookie undergoing a baptism by fire.

A quick look at the NFL odds shows us that the sharp money is on the Bucs having opened as 2 ½ point underdogs and are now at a pick at virtually all the major sportsbooks. Miami poses no real offensive threat and the Bucs should win this one rather easily.

Redskins (+9 -125) vs. Saints

We won’t get fooled again! That may be an iconic song by The Who but it won’t apply to me if the Redskins do me dirty like they did last week. For those following this weekly column, and after disclosing my losing two-unit pick on Washington last week, you know this pick will have the appearance of me chasing my tail on a team that recently disappointed me. Nevertheless, I like the Skins in this spot. Washington will be getting back defensive lineman Matt Ioannidis who will help tremendously with their run-stop unit and their offensive unit should be buoyed by the 30 points they rung up on a stout Vikings’ defense last week. The bottom line is keeping Drew Brees off the field and with all these points we are getting from the oddsmakers, I am confident Kirk Cousins can keep it close enough to get the cover.

Falcons vs. Seahawks (-2 ½ -115)

I believed with every fiber of my being that the Falcons were going to suffer a Super Bowl hangover and it’s looking like my prophecy is coming to fruition. The case can easily be made that the Falcons won’t get a seat at the postseason table as they are 5-4 straight up and a disappointing 3-6 ATS as they head into the final third of the 2017 campaign.

The Falcons had a solid victory against the Cowboys last week but that Dallas team was ailing while this Seattle club will be licking their chops to get back at it after 10 days of rest since their road win over the Cardinals. Don’t worry about the lack of Richard Sherman in the Seattle secondary as he has been beset with injuries and has not been himself this season. However, his teammate Earl Thomas will be welcomed back into the Seahawks’ defensive fold after missing the last two games and his presence will be much more profound than Sherman’s absence. Watch the Hawks beat up the Dirty Birds in front of a raucous crowd at the Link.

The Woodman’s Corner (8-2 ATS, +5.8 Units)

Hey, hey whaddya say?! Well, what can you say about the Woodman’s stellar string of sizzling selections? The man is unconscious this season as he cashed yet another of his NFL picks last week when the Green Bay Packers not only covered as six-point road dogs but defeated the Bears at Soldier Field outright!

This week the money train roars into U.S. Bank Stadium in a meeting between the Rams and Vikings. The Woodman has peered into his crystal ball and sees nothing but Rams battering and bloodying the defenseless Vikings. Woodman says to grab the small head start and back the road pup here.
