Swinger is back with his Week 12 NFL picks and is desperate to string together a sweep. Let’s review what the NFL odds makers are offering and find out which sides and totals are tops this week.

2015 NFL Record (14-19-1 ATS)
I have been trolling the net to find professional handicappers who are as confounded as I this season. Needless to say, it didn't take long for me to find what I was looking for and by so very many. The difference between a capper like myself who writes up these picks without charge to the reader and one who gets paid to do so is that I am liberated to tell you how confused I am about this season.

Conversely, there are many charlatans out there who misrepresent their records, tout only the wins and never speak of the losses. They do not have such license as they must maintain a false sense of bravado and chalk up every loss as a result of something that was out of their control and changed the outcome of the game (bad call, early game injury, etc...). I am talking about the guys who swear they have gone 70 percent or better in the (pick the sport of your choosing) and assign asinine amounts to their plays.

The long and short is that I am bewildered this season because there is not much separating these teams this season and the NFL finally has the parity it has so desperately sought for so very long. But like socialism, it seems like an equitable idea in theory but in practice makes everyone miserable. Last week we went 1-1 ATS with my total clicking in under 47 ½ in the Colts/Falcons game but never had a sniff with the San Diego Chargers as they got trounced by the Chiefs in my NFL picks.

Below I am going to give you the down and dirty on not just two selections but a few more than that. Ready, set - go!

Saints vs. Texans (-3)
The Texans are finally flexing their defensive muscles after taking the first half of the season off. Houston has limited their last three opponents to an average of less than 10 points per game. The Saints on the other hand blow. Advantage - Houston!

Giants (-2 ½) vs. Redskins
Big Blue has had two weeks to prepare for this NFC East tilt and after their narrow loss to the New England Patriots I am convinced this team is for real. The Redskins are mediocre at best and are lucky to be even 4-6. I am surprised the NFL odds makers are installing the Giants as such reasonable favorites, particularly getting them under the all-important field goal.

Buffalo +7 (-140) vs. Chiefs
If you like the Bills as much as I do then get yourself over to 5Dimes.com as they are the only book hanging a seven on the delicious dogs this week. I like the Bills and believe that they are getting healthier as the season progresses. The Chiefs have played some very good football over the past few weeks but they are not as good as their recent play indicates. Buffalo will hang with them all afternoon long.

Dolphins vs. Jets -3 (-125)
Once again we will be lured by the enticing lines at 5Dimes.com to play the home chalk in this one. Miami has shown me nothing recently while the Jets have...shown me nothing either. So why the Jets? Because they are at home and are fundamentally a better team than the lowly Fish. The Jets need a win and they get it in front of the fan friendlies.

Under 43 ½ Patriots - Broncos
Very simple. Tom Brady is running out of options faster than a death row inmate at midnight. He had a Swiss Army knife offense with so many different tools to choose from but after losing Edelman, Lewis and most likely Amendola he will be forced to thread the needle to a double and triple teamed Rob Gronkowski or heave it along the sidelines to Brandon LaFell. All that in back of a makeshift offensive line that has also been bitten by the injury bug.

On the flipside, the Broncos will be better off without this year's version of Peyton Manning but their offense has not been terrific throughout the season. However, both defenses are superior which makes this total more than appealing.

The Woodman’s Corner (7-4 ATS)
After a ferocious start the Woodman is beginning to chill just like those stone crabs on a bed of shaved ice. Can you tell it's Thanksgiving and I'm hungry? Anyway, last week was no good as the 49'ers could not hang with the Seahawks but this week he casts his lot with the Baltimore Ravens +3 as they travel to Cleveland. Obviously he is of the opinion that no team should get points when playing the lowly Brownies and he may very well be right.

Free NFL Pick: Ravens +3 at BetOnline
