Tyler Boyd Super Bowl Prop Bet Picks - Yards, Receptions, Touchdowns Bets for Rams vs. Bengals

Breaking down the top 2022 Super Bowl prop bets on Bengals receiver Tyler Boyd. SBR - trusted by bettors for over 20 years.

The mad dash to Super Bowl Sunday is officially on as odds and lines begin to settle in the prop bet markets. Let’s take a look at the market for Cincinnati Bengals receiver Tyler Boyd with our top player prop bet picks for the 2022 Super Bowl.

With rookie receiver Ja’Marr Chase getting all of the attention from Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, and Tee Higgins certainly seeing more attention after a big postseason thus far, Boyd should have plenty of one-on-one opportunities on the outside. At 6-foot-2 and 203 pounds, Boyd has the wingspan to bring balls down over the top of the majority of defenders in this league, including the Rams.

Due to the emergence of Chase and the development of Higgins in his second year out of Clemson, Boyd has found himself in the WR3 position and has excelled in it. Though he had just 67 receptions during the regular season, Boyd accrued the second-highest average yards per catch of his career at 12.4. Add five touchdowns and 828 yards to the mix, and it has been a strong year overall for Boyd, who has been a mainstay for this franchise since being drafted in the second round in 2016.

Being the third wide receiver option, Boyd’s matchup in this game will likely vary. Given his propensity to go up the sideline, however, look for coverage over the top in the form of strong safety Nick Scott and free safety Taylor Rapp being a big factor in just how many stats Boyd’s able to accrue.

Here are the top player prop bets for Tyler Boyd in Super Bowl 56 (pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

What are Player Prop Bets?

Typically, player props include a specific number with a total, and the bettor must predict whether the prop will land Over or Under the projected line.

Prop bets are a fun way to get action on the game without necessarily needing to pick a side. They're often a more sustainably profitable endeavor than betting on the game outcome.

Boyd Super Bowl Props

Over 39.5 receiving yards (-114)

The Rams allowed a minimum of three wide receivers to eclipse this number in each of the NFC Divisional Round and Championship games, and I think that’s what we see on Sunday. Against the San Francisco 49ers, who are known for their rushing attack, three players racked up 50 or more yards.

As for Boyd’s game log, while he’s yet to rack up more than 26 yards in a game so far this postseason, his regular-season paints a different story. From Week 11 to 16, Boyd racked up 49 or more yards in five games as the Bengals started to get hot and began their current run for all the marbles.

Under 3.5 receptions (+130)

Boyd's averaging 3.3 receptions per game this postseason. He has averaged over four targets per game from QB Joe Burrow, down from an average of 5.9 in the regular season. Looking at how the Rams have dealt with receivers this postseason, the receptions have tended to be limited, but the yards after the catch is where they’re getting burned.

Expect more of the same here as Burrow still looks primarily at Chase and Higgins.

Anytime touchdown (+275)

We’ve already touched on the Bengals' propensity for letting multiple wide receivers from the opposing team get into the mix, but this one takes it a step further. With one touchdown already in the postseason, Boyd should be on the field quite a bit in the Bengals' three-wide sets and get plenty of opportunities to get in the end zone.

In a game I like to turn into a shootout with the Bengals playing from behind throughout, look for Boyd to find pay dirt before it’s all said and done.

Top Boyd Prop Bet

Longest reception Over 17.5 yards (-105)

Speaking of yards after the catch, this is another area the Rams have been gashed this postseason. In the NFC Championship Game, they allowed four different receivers receptions of more than 16 yards. Against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Divisional Round, it was four different receivers with receptions of more than 18 yards.

As for Boyd, while the breakaway speed isn’t there, hence why this number is so low, I do like for him to catch one in the 20-yard range. He secured catches of 29 or more yards in four of the final five games of the regular season.
