Our NFL betting expert previews Sunday’s game between the Giants and Packers. You’ll want to read this revealing article for an ultimate betting edge on this contest.

New York Giants vs. Green Bay Packers

This week’s Sunday night nationally televised game will feature the Giants and Packers. The opening kickoff from legendary Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin is slated for 8:30 PM ET. This will be the first meeting between these teams since 11/17/2013, and on that day, New York prevailed with a 27-13 home win.

At the time of this writing (10/6), NFL betting odds at Bookmaker shows Green Bay as a 7.0-point favorite, and the posted total is 48.0. Bookmaker is presently offering new customers 50% cash bonuses on all deposits of up to $300. Can you afford to bet on the NFL and not take advantage of this offer?

Pertinent Team Trends and Notes

The New York Giants are coming off a 24-10 loss against Minnesota this past Monday, and failed to cover as a 3.5-point away underdog. Since 2014, the Giants are a dismal 0-4 SU&ATS as an away underdog following a defeat, and were beaten by a substantial average of 18.3 points per game. The Giants have an awful -8 turnover margin through its first 4 games, and their defense has a mere 1 takeaway over that course of time.

Green Bay has gone an incredible 17-3 ATS (85%) during their previous 20 games as a favorite of 4.0 to 9.5, and following a contest in which they scored 17 points or more. By the way, the Packers are coming off a bye week, and that was preceded by a 34-27 home win over Detroit. Furthermore, since 2006, Green Bay is 5-0 SU&ATS as a favorite of 4.0 or more in regular season games following a bye week. The average margin of victory in those 5 contests was a decisive 20.0 points per game.

NFL Betting Angle

Any non-division home favorite (Packers) of 4.0 to 10.0 that scored 30 or more points in their previous game, versus an opponent (Giants) coming off a loss in which they scored 14 points or less, resulted in those home favorites going 21-7 ATS (75%) since 2007.

The combination of the recent team trends, the above profitable betting algorithm, and some other intangible factors made my decision fairly easy. I’m siding with the home favorite in this instance for one of my NFL week 5 picks.
