Now that Super Bowl 49 is in the books, let's hotfoot over to the NFL future odds board for the coming season. Bookies fancy Seahawks for a second straight season but are they the best NFL pick?

Seahawks Top the NFL Odds Board
Super Bowl 50 Odds have gone to press and depending on where you look you'll see either the Seattle Seahawks sat lotus atop the charts alone or jointly favoured with the Patriots.

For instance, Bet365 are trading both the Seahawks and Patriots at +500 NFL futures (or 5/1) while Ladbrokes have the pair on offers of +600 (6/1) NFL odds. Nearest threats include the Packers at 7/1 and the Broncos at 12/1. Sportsbook.ag, meanwhile, are trading the Seahawks at +650 (13/2), the Patriots at +800 (8/1) and the Packers and Broncos joint third-faves at +1000 (10/1).

Table 1 is a complete list of the Super Bowl 50 NFL Futures currently trading (odds courtesy of Bet365).

To Win NFC Conference
After winning the NFC Conference two years in a row and then extending that form through the playoffs to clinch Super Bowl 48 and finish runners-up in Super Bowl 49,  it's really no surprise the Seahawks are the team to beat in the NFC. Their only competition or challenge comes in the form of the Green Bay Packers, if the NFL futures were any indication. Indeed, it's being tipped a two-horse race between the Seahawks and Packers for next season. (See Table 2).

Super Bowl 50 Early Predictions For Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks were one of the best teams in the NFL, albeit the Green Bay Packers did give them a serious run for their money, down the stretch during the regular season as well as the NFC Championship game. Given the pair's accounts, it's not surprising they top the NFC charts and are amongst the top faves for Super Bowl 50. Looking ahead though the Green Bay Packers practically leap off the page as the value NFL pick in our opinion to win the NFC Championship at +350 (7/2), if not make a serious run to win Super Bowl 50 at +750 (15/2).

The reason for this notion is simple and twofold. On one hand, the Seahawks have a ton of players that are about to hit the free market; unless they can have them pen contracts before next season. It follows, if the Seahawks lose a good chunk of the team as it is, they won't be the same obviously. Needless to say, it could be a huge setback. On the flipside of the coin, there's the NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, who in the minds of many probably should have/could have gone all the way to the Super Bowl 49 had a) Aaron Rodgers been healthy and b) the NFL Overtime Rule been more equitable (talk of revising the rulebook on overtime is underway). In any event, there's no sense in crying over spilt milk. Looking ahead,  build on this year's momentum next season is going to be significantly helped along with their status quo: they aren't threatened by free agency as the Seahawks are in the offseason, which only bodes for continuity.

Free NFL Picks: Take the Green Bay Packers on your early NFL Picks at 7/2 to win the NFC and 15/2 to win Super Bowl 50.
