Two of the best teams in the NFC meet up in Week 11, with the Cardinals and Lions both playing great football right now. Who should we take an educated chance on with our NFL picks?

Odds Overview
It's very early week, but that's not going to stop us from looking at the NFL Betting Odds closely to see if we can find an early edge.

At time of writing, the Cardinals were favored by a point at most of the top sites, but there were one or two sportsbooks that had the line at a PK. Unfortunately no total had been released when we penned this, so we'll have to wait a little longer to see what oddsmakers think.

Arizona Cardinals
Oh the highs and lows of an NFL season.

The Cardinals picked up another win in Week 10, using a late surge to beat St. Louis 31-14. It was the team's fifth straight win and has pushed their record to a mighty impressive 8-1 on the year,

The bad news? Starting QB and team leader Carson Palmer tore his ACL in the victory and will miss the remainder of the season. Before going down hurt, Palmer had thrown for 241 yards with zero touchdowns and one interception. Backup Drew Stanton came in and promptly took charge of the offense in style, throwing for 85 yards and a touchdown in limited acction.

Palmer wasn't having the most outstanding of seasons, and already has been injured this season, so we don't think the injury is going to be a backbreaker for the Cardinals. Plus, Stanton has looked very good at times when filling in, and he's been especially good at avoiding turnovers and critical mistakes.

Thing is, it's not all about the quarterback, and Arizona is living proof. The Cardinals have been getting it done all over the field, with their defense stepping it up another gear, the running game, led by Andre Ellington, getting the job done, and wideouts Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd and John Brown making play after play. This team is legit, no matter what you may think.

Detroit Lions
Like the Cardinals, the Lions continue to chug along, piling up victories along the way.

They've won four straight games to improve their record to 7-2. Their two losses on the year have come on the road against the Panthers and at home against the Bills.

In Week 10, Detroit looked destined to lose, but a late touchdown drive pushed the home team to the promised land. Theo Riddick caught an 11-yard pass for a score with 29 seconds left on the clock, leading the Lions to the 20-16 win. They also managed to cover the spread for backers in the process with that late score.

Individually, Matthew Stafford had 280 passing yards with two touchdowns and a pick, which made up for a forgettable rushing performance from the Lions. They only mustered up 63 yards on 19 carries in the win. Meanwhile, Calvin Johnson made his return and made it in style, catching seven balls for 113 yards and a touchdown. Golden Tate piled up 11 receptions for 109 yards.

We've got to single out Detroit's defense as well, though. The Lions have been terrific defensively and it was no different in Week 10. On the year, they're ranked third in opposing passing yards per game and second against the run, showcasing just how stingy they've been on that side of the ball.

NFL Pick
This seems like a spot in which the public will jump all over the Lions, considering the Cardinals will have to turn to their backup quarterback.

However, we like Stanton more than Palmer, and that's a big reason why we love Arizona in this situation. There's a lot of value here on a good Cardinals team playing at home.

So while the Lions have looked very good in their own right, and are getting healthy at the right time, we'll be recommending Bruce Arians' team as our preferred NFL Picks for Week 11. Best of luck handicappers!
