Very late in the week we begin to hear, read and see about certain teams that have that indescribable buzz and oftentimes the fluctuations in the NFL odds are evidence of that.  Let's see if we can narrow down a few teams that are getting lots of late attention.

Jaguars vs. Bengals
The Jags may be the laughingstock of the NFL but with their first win of the season over the Browns a few weeks ago...they're still getting laughed at! However, you may not be laughing much longer if you have gotten down on the Bengals at an opening number of as high as -14 when the lines were released Monday morning.

As of this late writing the line has spiraled downward and the Jags are getting love from someone out there. Cincinnati is currently as low as -10 at shops like Therefore, if you're going balls to the wall on Cincy with the high hopes of AJ Green returning to the lineup you should also know that Giovanni Bernard has been downgraded to doubtful in this one.

Cardinals vs. Cowboys
So the conventional wisdom on this game is that the Cowboys are still the real deal but hit a rough patch by overlooking a weak divisional rival in the Washington Redskins on Monday night. The Cowboys doomed many of those Suicide Pool picks as countless millions of entries went up in smoke in their stunning 20-17 loss in front of Jerry Jones and his billion-dollar playhouse. But redemption is within their grasp only this time the opposition may pose an even greater threat than did Washington last week. And speaking of weeks, it is a short one for the 'Boys as they played on Monday night while the Cards are in the midst of a three-game winning streak and incidentally have covered the NFL odds in all three of those contests.

The NFL odds opened at Dallas -4 which seemed reasonable to me. That line made this game a bona fide pass in my mind but others who appear to be bolder and brighter than I have hitched their wagon to that Arizona star and the odds have been driven to three, the most critical number in all of the NFL odds. Fours are nowhere to be found and if I'm a certified sports gambling degenerate and I require action on each and every game then I have to consider the Cardinals here with my Week 9 NFL picks.

Broncos vs. Patriots
This could just be a game you could actually watch without even having a plug nickel on it. Did I just say that?! Yes, it is one of the closing chapters in a rivalry featuring two of the greatest whoever played the game. That's right, Denver's stellar rookie receiver Cody Latimer and New England's third year corner Alfonzo Dennard. Oh, and if you're into surgically precise passing and historic stats then you could also check out those guys named Manning and Brady.

But here's a game that opened with the Patriots as four-point home! Really? The same team that just got done throttling the Bears at this very same venue? The Pats are no doubt a bit mercurial from their epic drubbing at Arrowhead to their sensational offensive heroics last week. But there have been plenty of in-betweens with this team as evidenced by their limping by the weak-kneed Jets 27-25 a few weeks ago.

However, Bill's Boys are on a four-game winning streak and have covered the NFL odds in three of those four contests. Gronkowski is clearly healthier and back to being the lovable beast that New England has adored since he broke into the league five seasons ago. Brandon LaFell seems to have gotten with the program and into Tom Terrific's good graces recently while the talented tight end Tim Wright, acquired in exchange for the legendary tough Logan Mankins, has also become integrated into the complex New England offense.

The line opened at Denver -4 in NFL odds and that number is down to three virtually everywhere. Normally a one-point drop doesn't make it on my wise guy radar but this point is significant as it has gone from four to three and we all know how crucial those numbers are. Patriots are getting some love as home dogs. You may not see them in this spot again in a good long while.
