The Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints are heading in unexpected different directions. Read on for our top Seahawks-Saints picks for their Week 5 contest.

Seattle went on the road and beat the Detroit Lions 48-45 last week to improve to 2-2 on the season under resurgent quarterback Geno Smith. Still, the Seahawks enter Week 5 as underdogs for the fourth time this season.

New Orleans dropped a 28-25 decision to the Minnesota Vikings on a neutral field in London, England last week that dropped the Saints to 1-3. New Orleans has been dealing with a plethora of injuries. Wide receiver Michael Thomas remains out for Week 5, QB Jameis Winston is doubtful, and running back Alvin Kamara and receiver Jarvis Landry are again questionable for Week 5.

Seahawks vs. Saints Odds Analysis

The Saints opened as consensus 6-point favorites but that line is down to 5 points with the Seahawks receiving 54% of the betting tickets and 61% of the handle.

Even with all the injuries on New Orleans' side, the Over/Under has increased from 41 on the opening line to 45 as of Sunday morning with 72% of the tickets accounting for 85% of the handle on the Over.

  • Tyler Lockett Over 64.5 receiving yards (-115 via DraftKings)

Seahawks vs. Saints ML Pick

Seahawks ML (+202) ★★★★★

The line seems to be favoring the Saints a bit too generously at the moment. Smith has been producing like a top-five NFL quarterback through four weeks and the Saints are dealing with injuries concerning nearly every key player in their offense. Seattle has been allowing nearly 29 points against per game, but that won’t matter as much against a New Orleans team that isn’t playing with a full deck.

The Saints have been better at suppressing opponent point totals, but they’ve also only scored 19 points per game. There’s just so much value in taking the Seahawks as long underdogs, given how close this matchup will be coupled with how well their offense has been performing.

Seahawks vs. Saints O/U Pick

Over 46 (-110) ★★★★

Hitting the Over has been a coin toss for both teams so far, with each going 2-2 against it through four games. New Orleans’ inability to score with regularity has been a crutch in their side this season, but they somewhat rebounded with a 25-point performance against the Minnesota Vikings last week.

As previously noted, the Seahawks have been giving up points at an alarming rate – including last week’s 48-45 scorigami win against the Detroit Lions. The Saints’ chances of winning this game are probably worse than the oddsmakers think, but Seattle’s suspect defense should allow New Orleans to at least pull their weight in points. Simply put, there are a lot of paths to the Over hitting.

Seahawks vs. Saints Prop Pick

Lockett Over 64.5 receiving yards (-115) ★★★★★

Boom-or-bust play has been a hallmark of Tyler Lockett’s career, which is why prop bets and fantasy matchups concerning him have generally been risky. On the other hand, he has shown great rapport with Smith leading to what has become a fairly safe weekly floor.

After a quiet Week 1, Lockett has since caught 24 passes on 30 targets for 274 receiving yards. With receiving yard totals of 107, 76, and 91 over the past three weeks, eclipsing 64.5 seems like child’s play.
